and we are a BF2142 Mod now, purely because as been stated here before correctly by Tren the fact that we can now have the ability to have ATATs, ATSTs and "other" bipedals in game.

That was ONE of the main reasons we switched but there were others.

Oh and we have new update today too :)

my recommendation was a nice way of saying use your friggin brain before posting dribble of an insulting nature. It may have been a "poke" - but you left no indication that you weren't serious. So you may not have chiselled it in stone - but you sure are back pedalling on it. Use a bit of common sense next time.

FS moved to 2142 as it supports bipedal vehicles - bf2 does not. simple as that (although i am sure there are other reasons - titan for example).

On a side note - I too am interested to see how this mod pans out. Tally ho!

Well now that I hear it is supposed to be released for battlefield 2,142 messups instead of 2, thats kinda dissapointing.

I don't intend to be mean but EA and Dice should really have perfected BF2 before even considering making an entirely new game.

Okay, for everyone who says that DICE should fix BF2 before making BF2142 is not realizing that there are two DIFFERENT teams making these games. DICE Canada is responsible in all ways for Battlefield 2. Why should DICE Sweden, responsible for BF2, wait for DICE Canada to finish when it has nothing to do with them? Honestly...DICE Sweden has nothing to fix in the first place.

Companies like to make money. They have already made thier money with BF2, and patches and tweaks wont bring them much more.

We will see if people buy into 2142, or if they rebel by not purchasing it, to show them that the community wont stand for unfinished work.

My guess is that plenty of people will buy 2142, and the company probably knows how to balance man hours vs profit.

Sorry but i gotta trip ya up there. DICE Canada is responsible for BF2: SF - They did testing for BF2. DICE Sweden was still responsible for BF2 So unfortunately people are realizing correctly - its just that you are incorrect. soz m8

I hear ya on the profit, we are consumers and they know that some people will buy it, maybe the people who play only occasionally but just to have fun and want to see BF at a new level. I on the other hand prefer quality over quantity and I would rather wait another 8months or so inorder to have a near-perfected game.

Have to agree with you on the quality, but for the producers of the titles, that race doesnt always make sense to the bottom line (money).

Look at HL2, didnt take long to finish that did it? lol

HL2 It is still my favorite game ever, and they did the right thing waiting for it to be finished.

BF2 sold a lot of copies, and I dont really care what team from DICE worked on what, its all one company as far as I am concerned.

If I go to a Sears in my town, then stop by another one on a trip, to me its the same company and I dont care about any internal poilitics Sears might have.

Havock is right about the money. A company like EA is going to have a group of suits at a meeting, looking at charts, deciding how to make the most profit.

This is exactly why I will be modding for KAOS studios next. They understand what we are talking about here, and will follow the path correctly. Im not one of those DC forum hoes either, that gives out handjobs to Frank and talks about the glory days in the DC forums,

However, that team has won my loyalty, and convinced me to get into the freelance development game. Soon teams will be able to take a good engine like UR3, get funding from a larger company, and remain somewhat autonamous.

EA is a Dynasaur, and they are a dying breed. They have Too many corporate people to pay who cant make a game, and companies need to slim down thier overhead and give the public what they want. The same thing happened to the music biz, and its comming to games now.

A hijack I know, but First Strike deserves thier post being near the top for a while, so heres some more life for you guys!!

Good luck with 2142 First Strike, were all rooting for you and what looks like a really kick *** MOD. :)
