Star Wars: First Strike. Where Did It Go?

I have been checking periodically on the progress of the star wars mod for BF2 and now that I have not checked on it in about two weeks, evidently it DOES NOT EXIST!

I know I was VERY eager to see this mod in all its glory, if someone can paste a link I would greatly appreciate it.

I too am awaiting this one. I dont know if they were affiliated with Galactic Conquest, or if they are just carrying on the MOD style for the people who want it in the bf2 engine. Same sort of scenario with DC and DCON maybe?

It seemed that they were kind of snobbish with thier MOD. I saw the requirements for applying to the DEV team, and it seemed to be a really "exclusive" club, lol. Might be why they dont seem to be in the game anymore.

They are going to Bf2142, they have a lot of updates on totalbf2142

As a mod, we still need more members to support us. So you want to join our team? You think you can live up to the challenge? In any case, we are willing to let anyone with an expertise in a certain area onto our team.

Please apply! Anyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced! But some knowledge in your specific area would help. If you want to join our team just drop by our forums and register.

nothing out of the ordinary there - you need experience to be of any help to anyone. Now if that is being "snobbish and exclusive", I recommend you seriously have a think about it first before saying something like that.

Well, Im not looking for any of your recommendations, lol.

As I said, I am waiting for this one, meaning I am a fan and will be supporting this mod when I can get a copy. Now that it has moved to 2142, that wont be happening. I wont be playing that game, thats a simple fact. BF2 is a disaster (I know, I am beating a dead horse), and why anyone would follow DICE to thier next fiasco is way beyond me, lol.

Anyway, the snobbish comment was just a little poke, I didnt chisel it in stone and throw it at the chosen people or anything, lol.

my recommendation was a nice way of saying use your friggin brain before posting dribble of an insulting nature. It may have been a "poke" - but you left no indication that you weren't serious. So you may not have chiselled it in stone - but you sure are back pedalling on it. Use a bit of common sense next time.

FS moved to 2142 as it supports bipedal vehicles - bf2 does not. simple as that (although i am sure there are other reasons - titan for example).

On a side note - I too am interested to see how this mod pans out. Tally ho!

OMG, lol. Breath more oxygen please. Im not interested. Maybe I should consult with you before making posts. Luckily its a free country, and I can make any comments I want. What comes across as insulting is open to debate, and I would say you are just as guilty as I, if either of us are.

Backpedalling? Backpedalling on what? That would imply that it was a big deal, and I felt like I did something wrong, and that I care.

^^^ M8 - calling something snobbish, regardless of language - is f'in insulting - especially when it is about genuinely nice people. I can't decide what is weaker, the fact that you sit there denying your initial intention, attempting to drag me onto your level whilst spewing complete BS, or the fact that you hang around the modding section saying these things when you clearly have no idea on the subject....

I guess if you are the designated defender of the faith, then you cant really help it, but you should tak eyour pills either way, your doctor wouldnt like you skipping your medication.

I still want ot know if this is the same group that did Galactic Conquest or not? I loved that MOD as much as any others for bf 1942.

Hey Havock, if BF2 is a dead, how about you totally leave the community, including this forum?

I totally agree that 2142 is a money tree and i definitely wont be buying it, or as a result, playing first strike.

They may realize this, but not until after they release.

I can say that BF2 is more appealing already if it makes people like you avoid it. Playing online with people like you is what makes the game suck, not the game itself.

The game itself doesnt dolphin dive or form internet cults that stat pad and cheat, those are the players.

In mods, people play who want to have fun, whereas unfortunately with ranking many counterstrike ish idiots play simply for "status". This "status" is that when you see a high ranking player, you know theyre likely an idiot.

Specific to FirstStrike, it is the new things they can do in with 2142 that they couldn't do with BF2.

Two good examples:

1 - Mechs...Mechs can walk...therefore the Mod team can make a walking ATST/ATAT

2 - Titan mode...You can fight in a huge floating thing...therefore the Mod team can make their maps where you can battle in space stations and star destroyers.

I would like to know if its the same team as Galactic Conquest, but I will just go to thier site and look it up myself.
