    Why I own J-10's, in an F-35.

I posted this in responce to a comment made in another thread and feel it deserves it's own. This is why I shoot down J-10's way more than they get me.

Don't drop you flares right away and use rear view to see when missles are launched. When you actually see missles heading your way flares get dropped not before. Also barrel roll, not aileron but barrel, missles just go all around and can't react like that. To do a barrel roll take the stick and pull it to a bottom corner, viola they missed.

If I was chasing you, opten you'd be an easy kill and this is why. I'm right on your a$$ in bomb mode and I switch to missles but do not fire I then wait for you to drop flares and I don't have to wait long. I then switch back to bomb mode, now you think you lost me or it was a stinger site and fly nice and straight at which time I unload guns at you and switch to missles and knock off just two off as you've no flares and are going straight, bye bye. Sometimes you make it real easy and slow down for a gun run on a chopper and I don't even switch to missles and I pwn you with guns in an F-35 on Wake. Go me.

However, some pilots are not idiots and start bobbing and weaving. You can tell if he knows what he's doing because he keeps running even though I'm in bomb mode and his warning lights aren't going off. In this case I will break off as he'll beat me in a turning fight so I go to 700ft and head to where you are about to rearm or repair as I most likely hit you with guns and possibly one missle. I stay inverted to see better roll out when I spot you rince and repeat. This tactic works and has turned the F-35 into a favoured A/C for me as it's also an exceptional ground attack fighter.

Final tip, blow apart stinger and AA sites first. They are easy kills for a gun run even at speed. Get to know your maps.

    hm ok...I try that out.
BTW: Isnt a Barrel roll just a roll over the wings?

No that's an aileron roll. A barrel roll is an aileron roll with elevator to create a roll that is sweeping as apposed to spinning around in a straight line which only ensures you catch my missles up your tail.

That's a bit wrong (not saying it doesn't work) - the way I do it: Bomb mode, get really close to J10, star firing with gun and at the same time switch to missles and fire RIGHT AWAY (don't wait for them to release flares), even flares will not help them, 2 shots and they are dead.

Yeah, that works like a charm too but the odds of hitting his burning debris gets greater so be ready to bank hard!

If you've killed a J-10 pilot in an F-35B they are a very inexperienced pilot. It has nothing to do with any other factor.

You could go a hundred rounds against me while in a J-10 and you wouldn't shoot me down once. That's a promise.

Try that on me. I check my rear every 5-10 seconds using either free chase cam or rear view mode. I also check before I go for a bombing sweep and when I get out from a bombing descent. Its been a long time since Ive been had off guard. Needless to say, You in F35B = You dead. Because you assume that your opponent has no skills. This mindset will spank you.

I almost spit my drink out when I read the OP. This guy is beyond clueless. Somehow he has created this fantasy world where he's the Internet Red Baron and rules the skies uncontested even in an F-35B. However if he spent about ten seconds in the air against me in a J-10 I'm sure that'd be more than enough to snap him out of this alternate reality he has constructed in the corner of his mind. Not that it makes me anything special but rather the J-10 itself would do all the work for me. J-10 imbalance in action.

I never assume which is why at the end there I say if he starts evading without his warning lights going off he knows what he's doing so I break off and get height. I'm not a pubber and play against other great pilots.

I am the guy who breaks your 40 kill streak.

I also notice that a lot of good pilots will not use the F-35 for the reason you explained I have a clan mate like that and he get's raging mad when I down him. I say tactics will see you trough.

Youre overestimating the poor champ here. Hell blame the lag and disconnect after hes been killed for the 3rd time...

Wow, you sue are an arrogant smacktard aren't you? With this thinking why are we not speaking Japanese. All models of Zero dominated the Grummans aircraft at the outset of the war but superior tactics made them win.

                        Tactics, tactics, tactics.

EDIT// I never said I never get shot down, I win more than I lose however.

J10's are invincible with the right piolot! Is it just me that feels guilty on Wake? 40-50 for 0. Gotta love those choppers with 6 people in. I feel sorry for the boats that go out wide, all that effort.

Hey I've got an idea I'm more than able to go online at the moment and hop in to a nice empty server right now. You grab an F-35B and I'll grab a J-10 and to give you an extra advantage I'll run laggy FRAPs purely get some funny footage of you attempting to dodge my missiles.

                            How about it?

So you break off, get height and hide? In the F35B? So you can try to surprise me again? Let me tell you what happens. Unless Im flying with a wingman, I will spot you (Yes, I can spot enemy jets even when Im flying in rear view), after which I will try to get on your six. When Im in the J10, its a matter of seconds. Have no doubt, if I will align myself into your flight pattern, theres only 2 ways for you to lose me. One, you go for a strato-run, which I will make your last run, because I will shoot all of my 6 missiles through your floating flares. One of them will definitely hit. You may be lucky and survive. Second option, Im out of missiles and I engage you with cannons. I have to get close, so you can do multiple sharp maneuvers and ditch me. Needless to say I use free chase cam to catch up with you. OR, I have spotted you just a few second before I get close. In both cases, you will be damaged, but these cases are a rarity, because if youre in F35B and Im in J10, you will most likely be shot down after the first "probe-missile".

I am the guy who breaks your 40 kill streak.

Not tactics. Fact is, F35B is not a dogfighter. Its a missile magnet and against the MiG and J10, the pilot in F35B has to have exceptional skills. Which is why I fly that thing whenever I can.
