    Sniping, Lag, and You

Im not sure if this has been discussed before, but one of the big major problems I have with sniping is lag. If I have even a .05 second delay on the trigger from lag, I will miss my target 75% of the time. What do some of you believe to be the minimum lag amount to allow accurate shots all the time? I am also still confused as to which sniper rifle is the most accurate now as I can tell very little difference between the unlocks. I still am an inexperienced sniper but I want to practice with it now that I have gotten a bit better at long ranged combat.

It's frustrating when you headshot someone ,you see the puff of smoke from hitting his head ,and you get killed by his gun

You = no points ,no kills

All I can do is snipe people out of their sniping spots

            Re: Sniping, Lag, and You

i play with a 13-18 ping in ea uk servers, this helps me hit my target most of the time say 50/50 which im cool with.

but im sure it would be harder if i had a higher ping, like the op said that .05 of a second can make all the differnce.

my tip for you if you aim for the head and if the target is 180m or further and static(i.e not moving) just aim youre crosshair a tiny bit higher than there head this way if you miss you have less chance that player can see you.

i alsways track my target for a few seconds before pulling the trigger,80% of the time they normal always stop even for a few seconds that the moment to get them.

headshots are not easy at 1st but in time you will get the hang of it.

experienced snipers use l96a1(most accurute and has a thin crosshair)
when i 1st started sniping (after my 1st unlock) i used the m95 its very powerfull take all enemy's down to 2bars (finish with pistol or vise versa)

you will get a lot more killassists with the m95,but go for bodyshots at 1st with the m95 its worth it.

after time you may want to go l96a1 not as loud fast reload and very high accuracy.

another tip i can give you is try not to hit target that are running/walking across youre line of sight(i.e from left to right or vise, versa) try to get youre targets running down you line of sight(i.e from the top of the zoom crosshair down,or vise, versa) mutch more likely to hit you target this way.

            happy hunting:)

Don't be worried about that, that's all I can do as well. Went about 33/2 on Kubra dam once, counter sniping all the campers on the hill by the MEC airfield. took out snipers, AT guys, you name it. Got a bronze on that map with some fairly decent pilots around too.

It's all about the ping - if mine is above about 40 I immediately change servers.
The frustration just isn't worth it.

i play in HK...no servers here. I get about 50-60 ping into Singapore when i can get in (which aint often) otherwise i play Aussie Internode servers where i ping about 150....i'm about 47% accurate with the sniper.......moral, whatever hand you're dealt you get used to it (eventually)

...damn, I always knew it must help to have a lower ping, but blade.verzilli -13-18? that must be sweeet!

I'm lucky if I ping under 150, and I've managed to adjust, and I'm okay with the sniper rifles, (seem to be able to compete anyway)

And Manick, read blade.verzilli's advice - he knows his stuff. For me, the L96a1 is an excellent weapon, very accurate, quieter, and fast reload... The M95 is just fun, that sound...I still love it!

personally i suggest playing with 100 ping and that range while snipeing. then when you can hit your shots start playing in lower ping servers, i find it easier to adjust from more lag to less whle snipeing then its easier to guess where to aim.

You can always hit TAB to see what your ping is, and compensate that way. You can practice leading targets and landing headshots.

I was able to get my Vet. Sniper Badge on Karkand with about 60-80 ping. I got it sniping, not in a tank. I think I went 35-8 or something like that. If you don't worry about accuracy, then you can get some nice kills (lots of shots though).

Or you can try shooting their body then taking out the pistol and shooting them 2-3 times (set Weapon 2 to the wheel click). Pistols are extremely accurate. That's an easier way to compensate for lag.

If u want to learn more about sniping visit the sniper community

Its just only for snipers and there is events that take place like there was a medic vs sniper challengea month ago and plenty of people to help u learn.

Also for acuracy the m95 is VERY accurate if known how to aim properly with it and is also the most powerfull sniper.
the L96A1 is also great for long distance accurate shots.

Lag + M95 = bad idea. Means you have to count with two factors while shooting a running guy: bullet drop AND lag delay.
