The scenario you describe here is identical and similar to countless others - and I agree, battlefield-behavior is deteriorating. If you wish to fly any vehicle, you are more likely to be killed/yelled at by your own team. Your "teammates" are more dangerous than the enemy.

I feel that this sad, sad state of affairs has been brought about by stats and ranks. It has attracted the wrong crowd and infected others with a very puerile obsession with points - individual points.

Dice/EA had created a rank/stat system that turns the majority of players on BF2 into a Jerry Springer-crowd, by appealing to the the most primitive of human impulses.

I saw these two guys waiting for the jet on wake island.

24/7 wake the slaughterhouse

One guy got in it and as usual the other guy stood in front and got himself teamkilled.

I said 'admin' and to my suprise it was an admin that stood in front of the jet!!!, anyhoo, he said he didnt have time to get away which was bull ****...as i watched him. Anyway, for that guy being a pure eejit.... i waited till he got into a jet, pulled out my Eryx and blew him up.

I thought that was a fitting punishment for him being a little sissie...

i then disconnected and joined a far superior server,:)

I think a good solution to the issue of fighting over vehicles in general is to make pilot and driver classes similar to the commander that you apply for and goes to the highest rank. Only the person who was the chopper pilot class could fly the chopper, only the designated tank driver could drive the tank, etc.

no no no no no,bad idea,then all the higher ranks get in it and no1 get sto fly except them,i hada lietenant collenl once and he couldbt fly or even gun for me.

My friend and I always squad up and try to use a common tag so that people know that we are together and are taking the chopper up as a VOIP team. If TWO players show up at the helipad, and one of us doesn't get into the chopper and one of us does, we'll jump out and let the other 2 have it. If there is only ONE other guy waiting at the helipad and one of us gets in, we'll politely ask in chat that the other guy get out (while using the bail out command) and explain that we're a 2 man VOIP team. If he were to bring another player along, we'd gladly let them have the chopper for a sortie.

That does not give you any right at ALL to tell anyone to "get out"...Politely or not. How about this....you just fly the damn heli as per normal until you die and then try to whore it again with your buddy until you both get in. Nobody has exclusive rights to vehicles just because you think you should because your squad's called "Heli Whores".

I realize you are trying to be fair, but any time someone thinks they have more right to something in a MP game than someone else for any reason (because there really is no reason no matter how many invented ones you can come up with), they are dead wrong.

Change teams - go Spec Ops and make their life hell. I love to C4 choppers, let them fly away,and then waste them as soon as they start their attacks. Then throw some C4 on the chopper pad and blow it as soon as they start to take off. My favorite is to C4 the Blackhawk and when they come in to repair - BOOM.

I said it before: multi-level licensing with a priority system. Simple, efficient and would eliminate most of these situations. The only difficulty lies in making specific tests to measure performance... and even that's not very difficult: it's called consulting with some of the better players out there to create a baseline. Seriously, if I thought for a moment that Dice would consider the idea, I'd be working on it 24/7.

That does suck but what pisses me off more are the people who go solo so they can pilot-gunner switch.

I like to fly with my clan mates and I will ask a gunner/pilot to bailout but if they don't then I leave, but I don't do what that guy did.

True, I got knifed by this idiot on my team, he and his clan mate they were both like 3 star generals, and they wanted the chopper so they tk'd everyone who came near the pad. I'll probly get flamed for making this topic, but gotta let out some air now and then .

Dude I know how you feel. Karkand is my map and I am DAMM GOOD with an APC but, people still rob it from me and that's fine if they are god drivers and know where to go. If they suck and keep taking it then I get pissed!!!! Nooobs don't care though and in a way I can't blame them. If I were to listen to everyone who told me to get out when I was first learning the game I would not be as good as I am today. Truth be told though. Sharqui Heli Whores are the worst. They team kill just to fly and then get blown out of the sky. Usleless to their teams. BTW, if they are 3 star generals and they suck that badly then you know they spent hours on some deserted server stat padding. I think that should be patrolled and the players caught should be banned allowing them to appeal the decision to a committee if they want their stats back.

I am a solo chopper whore and prefer to take off alone or gun for someone else... (Jumping from pilot to co-pilot, just gefore the guy walking towards the chopper gets in)

I bet not many people here will like me for that... (the soloing part)

But one thing I WILL NOT DO, is to try to get into a chopper, halfway into a round, especially when there is allready a chopper team (same clan tags) flying it...

That is just something you should not try to do...

Frankly, anyone who waits at the pads for a vehicle to spawn is just using up space and deserves to be TK'd over and over again until they enter a firey realm where they are C4'd up and down and elevator with large, rusty nails on the floor and roof so that each time, their lifeless body is punctured over and over again until all that remains of them wouldn't feed a rat. Then the whole elevator should be sterilized with flames of hate and dispair and their ashes scattered on the winds of depression.

In short, don't you dar just stand around in an FPS game 'tards.

Honestly, I'll stay away from that particular heli only after confirming they're actually putting it to good use. Otherwise, I will interpose myself and begin pwningz.
