Yes, more or less as I assume you mean neither positive or reverse throttle correct?
I can circle around the flar while maintaining a diameter, but thats just circling. I can eventually get pretty damn close to the flag, but I dont think I get to the point where it becomes a damn tornado  .

Hell, maybe I am doing what you guys are doing, and I just dont know it. Either way, it doesnt feel like I do it.

        I use a logitech extreme 3d pro.

I use the trigger for firing missles and the bigger button on the left by the HAT for cockpit view, and the button on the right of that for rear view, and the button on top of that for flyby view and the button to the left of that for the map.

I use JoytoKey for the HAT to look around in mouselook and to Q spot and say sry etc.

I dont use any of the base buttons.

And the throttle for the errr throttle. But I use S to slow down and use A and D to move side to side.

As for the move, I have tried it a lot and find it very cool to rearm with. Its funny as hell to see. But I lose altitude quick enough. I definetely cant maintain it for 5 minutes. You start off with maintaining a diameter then just get closer and tighter and tilt it forward a little.

Met/Blades I still use mouse and keyboard for both Jet and Heli, if you have the Joystick like the one you have what are the advantages?

Met/Blades im using K/M for Helis and Jets, with having the same Joystick as you both do what are the advantages over M/K, I mean is it easier to fly a Jet in the sky? make you harder to kill?

Oh yeah is the exact one?

If so thats a very good price.

yes thats the one. Its a great js. There are still people who swear by m/k but with a joystick your movements become much smoother, you have more endurance and can play longer and I can track an enemy plane very easily with the js.

imo there are many advantages to using a js. I can always tell when an enemy is using a mouse and keyboard to fly their plane while i am using a joystick. If you really like flying in this game i see no reason not to get a joystick.

the hind is by far the easiest helo to maintain altitude in doing this manuever. in fact, with the hind, you can not only do a tornado/cone but rather a cylinder movement where the nose is pointed straight down and the helo slides around in a circle while having the nose pointed straight down the entire time. i call this the "circle of death", because when you get on maps like mass destruction where your enemy is bottled up into the electrical station you can do this right over head and just rain down rockets randomly and get kills like mad... yay for random killing!!!! :P

all other helos you can do such movements, but you will need to play with the angle of the helo body to the ground in order to minimize altitude loss.

My jet settings are alot more used up than the heli... I still have 3 buttons I don't even use on the main part.. (either that or I just can't remember the buttons)
How did you set the joy axis to look?

Practice bud. it really isnt that hard. i taught TopGunGreg this move back in the day.

point the nose at the center of your circle, press W and and a directional key( A or D) and keep your nose pointed at the center of your circle.

this tactic is called circle strafing

                        Re: helicopter control impressive

You have to rudder in the opposite direction your heli is tilting away from while being at an angle of 70 degrees below horizontal zero and constantly but smoothly remain in that direction (so keep moving your mouse to give constant input) while keeping a good control over the throttle (doesn't necessarily stay at max), if you understand what I'm saying.

It's really hard to explain without visual aid: you just have to keep trying and eventually, you'll get it. Please do keep in mind that it's mostly a useless (but flashy) move: you're almost as easy to hit on that rotation than if you were doing more controlled circle-strafing...

actually i find this move the most useful of all "flashy manuevers". you can spam a cap point really easily with such an approach and clear a lot of people out quickly. and i find people, ATs in particular have a really hard time hitting me while doing so. i do watch for ATs though and try to vary my circle radius to keep them guessing though.

so i really don't think it's useless at all. now, flipping while in mid air-to-air combat because you think you are going to loose and want to try to evade is just plain useless lol. i can follow anyone that flips and all it does it put me higher than them and height = ftw.

To get her into a spin push forward on the stick and you will go into that corkscrew spin. Get into an empty server and practice.

The key here is a joystick, nothing can touch it for control. People will telly ou they can do well with just a mouse and it is true but once you are good with a joystick you'll notice the difference especially in the really violent evasive manouvers.

For a chopper? The mouse is the way to go......much quicker to respond than tossing around a joystick. For a jet, the stick is better for sure...chopper=no.

3 weeks excessive "retraining" with a mouse says this.

                              (note, Im a JS pilot)

Mouse control is totally different, its amazing what it can give you if you use it with as much experience as you use a JS. Im not saying its overall better, Im saying its different, and its better (by miles) in certain aspects. For example, quick-stop at 300 KPH, amazing. Youll have 100% control and you have a perfect halt. In small details, mouse offers more control. And it feels natural. Try sinking FFARs with mouse and JS, youll feel that mouseclicking is a little easier than trigger key on JS.

But, for me, joystick wins. Its natural in its use, feels "cool" and offers full control in long-lasting maneuvers, with little wear on hands and little effort.

In conclusion- Mouse = fine control, JS = rough and stable
