I can spin almost straight up and down when I get going fast, but you need to know when to pull out when you start dropping. You definitely get dizzy doing it, just like Talus said. The gunner doesn't seem to like the move too much. haha
I can actually do that but can only do it for like 15 seconds before you get to close to the ground and have to pull up. But I have seen people do it for like 10 minutes, trepid_jesse used to do that alot, but how? what is the key to being able to hover their and not get to close to the ground?

looks like I have some local internet time coming up to practice this skill.
roger that, thanks for advice. one more thing how may play with joystick for helo flight compared to mouse/keyboard.

        Rudder movement is the key

Have you tried the move yourself, or just don't have the balls to attempt it once? And I mean that in the kindest manner possible. I say this because I got it my first try and have yet to crash doing any spins. (Into the ground.. I have hit a tree or two). I really can't tell you the key method involved b/c I don't really pay attention to what I'm doing aside from what is on the screen. I'm too busy trying to keep my butt in the air.

Yeah I can do it, but I fall to the ground quite fast, I can't keep in the air doing the spin for like 5 minutes or anything, I can only keep it going for 10-15 secs, so what key must I use to keep it going longer?

Well, to be honest I've never tried to do it for 10-15 minutes. haha I'm not even sure why anyone WOULD do it for that long. You will probably need to use a joystick to keep in the air that long in a tight spin. I don't think the m/k will cut it.

Thats the thing. When I spin, I spin, as if my spin axis was my tail rotor (imagine it, youll understand what Im saying), and I lose altitude pretty damn fast. So far, local server practices have shown themselves to be with no result... I just cant get it done. I think I succeeded once, but I cant replicate it anymore.

You know what? Try making the maneuver again while remembering what you do, share some light!

No, neutral throttle or hover throttle.

I use a joystick, when I fly the choppers I have it on 0, or as close to 0 as possible. That, in theory works too, right?

Where did this spin come into it?
He's asking how to circle a target with the gunner constantly pointed at the target area.

Yes, more or less as I assume you mean neither positive or reverse throttle correct?

this is for the logitech extreme 3d pro

                              button 1 - missles
                              button 2 - flares
                              button 5 - ventrilo "press-to-talk"

                              hat:
                              up - cockpit view
                              right - look behind me
                              left - flyby

ctrl = mouselook enable, and I have my X axis set to look left/right.

I also just use W/S for throttle.

My jet settings are alot more used up than the heli... I still have 3 buttons I don't even use on the main part.. (either that or I just can't remember the buttons)
