Driver kill assist is different from a damage kill assist..... Even passengers get driver kill assists....Actually a passanger could get both....
You earn the driver kill assist point from being in a vehicle that kills someone since in theory you aided in whoever killed them to do so by being part of the TEAM in the vehicle...
However only the driver will receive a special ability point when someone in the vehicle gets a heal/re-supply/repair point
After receiving about 2,179 of these "special ability" points I would say I have a pretty good idea of how you get them
