its where say ur driving a humvee andu got a gunner ontop. When the gunner kills someone i think u get the special ability point.

a special abilty point is differnt from a driver killassist.

example A: youre driving a buggy with a crew or 1 or 2 you get a rocket fired at you and just get out the way in time,you will get a special abilty point.

you get them for taking enemyfire also but you cant die.

maybe there is other ways to get them but thats how i usaly get them dodgying stuff in a buggy.

you get them for taking enemyfire also but you cant die.

thats completely stupid-you get those points vhen you are driving and one of your crewman gets for example ressuply,heal,repair point,or if he get claymore kill and you drive and he is in you get driver ability assist(or he blast c4)

i thought it was when someone in your vehicle heals/resupplies someone. I have gotten them taking off in the BH and atk chopper.

You don't get points for any of these things. I think any team points you get as a driver counts toward the special ability point. So a gunner getting a kill or healing/resupplying/repairing friendlies next to your vehicle..

ill tell you what's funny you thinking a driver killassist is the same as a driver special abilty point.

now if you read my other post i clearly said that there may be other ways to get them,this is how i get them so please go try out what i said in sp with bots and test for youreself.

i practice with a buddy of mine in a coop server to get used to/good at flying choopers we regulary get 150-200 driver kill assist in a round,but the op asked about How Do you get a driver special abilty point? i sily relpy with a diifernt asnwer to everybody else on what i think is correct.

maybe i could be wrong in thinking i got it from dodgying a sraw rocket but its happend several times ,maybe its a bug in the game.

i would not give false answers if i didnt see it myself.

p.s i didnt mean i got the abilty point fro jumping out of a burning buggy,i got them from driving head on and swerving out the way to dodge the rocket,sorry for the misunderstanding.

Sorry, I misread you initial post. Still, every point you get in the game has a message associated with it that shows up on the left side of your screen. If it doesn't say "you got points for dodging a rocket!", you didn't get points for dodging a rocket.

thinking about it now after 10mins off googling LOL ,perhaps the rocket dodging was a coinsedence and i heal,repaired,supplyed a team m8 at the same time i was running over infantary.

Driver special ability = 1 point. Note: You receive these points while driving or piloting and someone that is in the vehicle with you receives combat or team points.

You get ability points whenever anyone else in your vehicle gets points. So if you're a medic and you heal someone next to or in your vehicle, it counts as a healing point. If someone else in the vehicle is a medic and gets a heal, you get a special ability point. Driver kill assists would also count toward special ability. I'll trust BF2S to be authoritative on this subject.

Back when the Blackhawk had firepower, I remember getting points as a pilot when a resupply guy was sitting in the back and people were tossing grenades or shooting rockets from the back seats.

Okay take this from someone who just got that ribbon yesterday (deathfrombabove2010) if you wannna check. Lets say you're MEC at Oman flying the bomber w/ a co-pilot. If he kills an M-1 he gets a kill, but you get a driver kill asist. Now lets say you're still MEC at Oman but flying the trans helo with a medic on the left turret and a sniper in the back door position. A SRAW hits the back and the sniper almost dies (2 bars left). The medic automatically and instantly startes to heal the sniper since their in the same vehicle. You need a certain number of both to get the medal.
