Hell no, they have the be the easiest class to kill in-game, and if you're moving, they rarely get a fatal shot on you*.

Nope, when you have a medic pack and can dolphin dive/bunny hop well, snipers are the least of your worries. Even if a do get shot unexpectedly (which often happens), what's to fear... they're snipers!

One thing I learned early on is NEVER chase a sniper through buildings. If you can kill him when you first see him do it, if not then don't bother chasing them. The reason is because of a claymore or sometimes a sniper will hang out witha medic/support guy and as soon as you turn a corner you're toast

One semi-dirty tick I like to do when I manage to cap a sniper is to grab his kit, drop any/all remaining claymores, then switch back to my old kit.

Effectively you give yourself free kills.

If you happen to be support when you come across a dead sniper, by all means drop an ammo pack first, then switch kits. Then you're sure to have 2 clays waiting for badguys to trip over.

although your going OT, naughty mod :p, have you checked to see how long those claymores will stay there?

Hehe, sorry. I was thinking along the lines of why I don't fear snipers all that much... rather, I love to bag 'em so I can drop out some cheapo kill makers.

I haven't hung out long enough to see those hi-jacked clays fade out, but they defiantly do. My guess is they last the same amount of time as dropped mines do if you die then change kit (which also causes 'm to fade, BTW). It's not instant... but I'm thinking about 3 to five minutes... maybe?

if they go when the kitbag does, then its 30seconds from the players death.

It's definatly a longer duration than that.
I know I've lost my hi-jacked sniper kit due to fade out, but the "borrowed" claymores persisted long enough to score me another couple kills on Mash's Hotel steps.

Actually does that claymore-stealing thing work? One time a squadmate and I were running along on Kubra, he killed a sniper then grabbed his kit, dropped the clays, and grabbed his old kit, and when I walked by one of them it blew up (FF was off for mines) and the sniper that my buddy killed got credit for killing me, even though it was my squadmate that dropped the clays! Could have been a fluke though, I suppose. *shrugs*

Fearing snipers? Depends. Good snipers, yeah, somewhat, because you won't necessarily know where they are positioned when you get hit so you don't always know where you're safe from their line of fire. Poor snipers, not at all, because they're easy to spot, they don't usually move, and so it's easy to take shelter from them and/or get a better angle on them to pick them off.

I don't think anyone fears snipers. Most people just ignore me when I snipe them, but higher ranking players often get pretty mad at me, and come gunning, (which is when it gets fun for me), because they seem pretty ticked off by snipers and sneaky tactics in general.

And I don't blame them in the least. Snipers are evil.

Getting shot in the head, then getting shot in the head again after being revived has gotta get old fast. But it sure makes me love that L96.

I had one guy last night who got into the same stinger emplacement 5 times in a row, and guess what? I got five headshots on him.

Makes me think of that incredibly annoying commercial... "Head on - apply directly to the forehead."

L96 - apply directly to the forehead. L96 - apply directly to the forehead. L96 - apply directly to the forehead. Argh!

The L9 is an AMAZING gun, Although when I do sniping (I play at a pretty much 24/7 oman server) I usually either snipe at the carrier or the airfield so I prefer the M95

theres no 1 shot sniper...get shot once = bunny hop until u find a med kit and then ur fine...so ha..snipers

Cyber, you and I have got to snipe together sometime. If we could get Almanac into the same squad, with a medic and a support guy... ohh the havoc we could create! :-)
