was wondering if its possible for objects on the minimap to get anchored to the edge rather than going away when they go out of range. is this moddable or is it already an option.

Re: minimap anchoring
I don't think it is possible to do this at this point. I know what you mean though. The only thing we can do is anchor the minimap in general, keeping if from going in circles based on player movement. -

Re: minimap anchoring
I just keep my minimap zoom button handy. That way if I need to know where something is, i just hit N (in my case) and it's not that big of a deal, but, I don't think they will implement what you are suggesting at this point.Comment

Re: minimap anchoring
It can probably be done through modding, but it would require a total overhaul of the way the minimap/UAV/Spotting works.Comment

Re: minimap anchoring
If you wanted to add it to a mod, that is different. I think then it could be a possibility. I doubt that is one of the things that is hard coded into BF2.Originally posted by roger smithnot even through modding?Comment

Re: minimap anchoring
I saw a jet pilot who had his map rotation to the "Follow Player" option. I was just wondering if once you get over the initial "this is weird" phase if it's any more useful that the static option.Comment

Re: minimap anchoring
Depending on your level of team-play, I'd suggest not going with the 'follow player' option. We had a guy take off in a HUMVEE at the start of a match 'cuase what I was referring to as the East of the map was different for him - he used his mini map to determine where he was supposed to go lol.Comment
