    Re: Encourage forgiveness

The issue is not the TKs or the punish/forgive system - it's the smacktards. Regular decent players will recognize that a TK is accidental (if it is) and forgive the culprit. Similarly, regular decent players will apologize when they accidently TK someone. This goes whether it's a completely unpredictable TK or because of momentary carelessness or an honest mistake.

If we had no smacktards, there wouldn't even be a need for a "system" one way or another.

Any system - whether it be default "forgive" or "punish" will be abused by the smacktards.

So, the challenge is to create a system that requires as little "work" on behalf of the players as possible, so that you are not interrupted and forced tomake all sorts of decisions.

    Cheers :-)

Like I said, some will cry foul. Personally, I don't see where it changes the game. Your objective is to take all of the flags and kill the enemy. Anyway, if killing friendlies is important, then just remove the whole punnish/forgive item. Just keep track of tks and boot anyone with 10 in one round. If someone is tking for a vehicle, they can only do it so many times before getting booted. Even if they try and act sly by stopping short of 10 tks, if they are in a vehicle, it is only a matter of time before they pick up another one from normal play.

You just can't force anyone to say "sorry" or "thats ok." Some folks are just plain jerks and enjoy disruptive play because their whole mission is to ruin your game.

The system is fine! Seriously, have you EVER been kicked because you exceeded the limit of TK punishes? I don't think I have exceeded the number of TKs need to be kicked in many rounds, if any.

It has a built in 'smacktard protection' as you don't get kicked for one or two TK punishes.

          Re: Encourage forgiveness

I didnt even bother reading the posts really, I play all the mods and morons even punish for TK's when it doesnt matter or make any sense to do so. I played CQB for about an hour yesterday and saw at least 6 punishes, not to mention all the exploiters (on a mod no less). Its just ridiculas the level of maturity exihbited by the vast majority of BF2 players, oddly enough the majority of punishes I see are from Clanners. The pubbers I see are more likely to forgive.

Another crazy thing is some guy was playing and complaining about losing his points!! Its a mod, the points dont matter.

            Re: Encourage forgiveness

I would rather see a "personality awards" given at the end of each round, .....like the ...

"women driver" award for the person that had the most friendly road tks

"unforgiving bastard" award for the person who punishes the most

"cross-eyed" award for the person with the worst accuracy for a round

            "Plane/Chopper whore" award....self explainitary

"waste of a human" award for the guy that stood waiting for a plane/chopper the longest

"team douchebag" award for the guy that kills the most teammates

please feel free to add any more suggestions...
