Based on my PC stats (in my sig), should I bother giving AA 4x a try?
I'm not familiar with ATI products, so I don't know much about your Vcard.
It's a matter of personal taste. Just remember framerate should be the deciding factor if you apply AA or not.
If your framerate dips to low during gameplay with AA on, but you liked the look of it, try a lower resolution, or "tone" some other things down. Achieve a balance that you like.
For frame rate hit the ~ key above tab and type : renderer.drawfps 1 (need the space before 1, and all lowercase).
Personally I choose higher resolutions over higher AA settings. If I can have some of both I go with that combination.

I have yet to see ANY resolution that looks good without some AA used. Including those extreme resolutions of 2048...no AA still has obvious jaggies and looks disgusting IMO.

Your system should be good enough.
However, I personally don't give much care for AA. I prefer to focus my attention on playing the actual game, rather than looking out for trivial "jaggies".
What do those scrennies prove? They dont show FPS. Any card can run high settings, its the frames per second that matters. With that much AA on your FPS will be low. Open the console and type renderer.drawfps 1 and see what it is. Take those two screenshots again with the FPS on them.
