Re: Could 1.4 official be out later today?

It will be released when the bugs that need fixing in BF2142 have been tested and resolved. Yes you read that right, BF2142.

There is a very good pile of evidence that suggests that BF2 was really a giant public BETA for BF2142. You can find the snippets and references if you do some digging and open your eyes a bit. And no, I did not see any of this on Art Bell.

The BF2142 engine is and has been touted as an IMPROVED BF2 engine. Go back and do some counting. How could the BF2 engine have been improved when it is still being patched and tweaked? Also, how long after the release of BF2 was it before we heard of BF2142?

Here is the deal. Desert Combat showed EA/DICE what was possible. EA/DICE scooped up the folks that made DC and told everybody that BF2 was going to basically be DC2, but with more modern equipment and a near future story line. Everyone got excited and as soon as BF2 hit the stores, we bought it. The folks that made DC got the boot and the BF2 engine began its transformation into BF2142. Why waste time and money on in house BETA testing when you can get folks to buy the BETA and test it for you. BF2142 will NOT have the engine problems that BF2 has had. Just watch.

Now that is the theory that is floating about. If you close one eye and tilt your head to the right, you can almost see it....

Something makes me really doubt that...

thats something to think about, but someone could sue EA/DICE for releasing a product that wasnt ready. Thats a crime and you can sue companys for it.

Think about it, it would apply to any product, if a company sells you a product thats incomplete and doesnt work properly then thats wrong

Read the fine print in the user agreement. Someone said it in these forums in another thread, you aren't buying a game, you are purchasing the liscense to play it. EA/DICE reserves the right to make significant changes to the game at any time. That alone is enough wiggle room to get them off of the hook for selling what you may claim to be an "unfinished" product. Burden of proof in a case like that lies with the plaintiff, NOT the defendant.
