I dont see the problem, the server owner wants a practice in his own server with his clan mates, i'd respect that and leave after that map had finished.

they were actively kicking anyone who wanted to play on that ranked server. i thought that was against bfroe

          proof it was ranked:

This is why I'm asking - not sure if it's against the rules. In any case - looking up some of the stats on the NATO guys you can tell they "practice" a lot.

Honestly, i dont have a clue if it's against the rules, but if it is it shouldnt be. Considering they're paying for it and allowing you to play on it, a little Clan time isnt a lot to ask for.

                Oh give it up people.

I admire your attempt to hang onto the dream of what the points/rank system was supposed to be, but come out of it and see it for what it is, a complete shambles.

EA doesn't even suspend ranked servers that are named P&K right out in the open for everyone to see. Do you think even if you sent them all these screens, they'd investigate this one single transgression?

Not to mention the server rules themselves are probably so vaguely worded or implied that they could weasel out of just about anything.

Do yourself and your blood pressure a favor and forget about ever trying to have the BFROE inforced.

Either way - using their stats it would be easy to get their stats reset, that would hopefully open their eyes to allow non-clan members to play on their ranked server.

It's not like I get all fuming mad when this happens, I'm just trying to be a responsible gamer. Evil persists because good men do nothing to stop it as they say.

if they pay for an unranked server - you are correct.

"a little clan time" could be just an excuse to stat pad IMO.

If they truly want clan practice time, all they have to do is password the server, it goes into unranked mode then, and they can practice all day, other wise they could be considered stat padding and get the whole clan wiped

i didn't know about that feature (passwording auto-unranks).

I didnt know you could just switch between ranked and unranked. Well if it's that simple to do then they probably are padders since it would be far less hassle to put a password on it as opposed to kicking everyone that joins.

Unless it's an honest mistake and they didnt know you could switch it like that.

Well if it makes you feel better then by all means report them. What's unusual is why would someone want to kick joiner after joiner, when they could just password it and be left to themselves?

                          Unless......... foulplay is afoot.

Thanks indian - i appreciate you helping out those responsible gamers that still have faith in the ranking system. Can you tell me how to report this myself to save you the trouble? I tried reporting on BFRoE but I accidentally typed in something wrong and it wouldn't let me enter the same server IP twice.

I wish I could be more specific, but I can't remember the field that I screwed up on. Maybe it was my email. Does it track IPs? I think I screwed up my email (my last name has 3 frekin vowels in a row)

Either way it said "you've already submitted this server"

                              doh :)

I posted something on their forum, it follows:

                              Hi guys.

May I start by saying I really did enjoy playing on your server. It's got a low ping and some good maps in rotation.

My complaint, however is with "team practice". If you password protect your server, the server automatically becomes unranked and anything goes. In short, my suggestion is to password protect your server in order to have team practice (which is very common among clans).

Why you may ask? Kicking non-clan members from a ranked server is against the BFRoE set forth by EA. It seems like most folks on the server had no idea what BFRoE was and misconstrued the difference between an official EA-leased server with an EA trusted ranked server. BFRoE applies to any ranked server and is signed by the hosting company that EA allows to lease ranked servers.

For more information about the BFRoE, please visit this site:

Now let me tell you why I'm doing this.

I try to be a responsible gamer. And if this happens to someone meaner than I, you may get reported. Reporting can also happen against players. For example, if someone has a favorite victim in the same clan and the kill-streak count on that person is over 30, EA has been known to wipe their stats.

Is that a threat? No. That's not my style. You guys run a good server but it seems like you're a little misinformed about what a ranked server means. As a ranked server, there are certain rules to abide by, as outlined in the bfroe. There's actually a lot of leway in the BFRoE. Your rule of not assaulting non-caps unless all flags taken is allowed. However, servers (as an example) that say "No commanders or you will get kicked" creates a non-standard in the ranked server world.

Now I'd like to keep this civil please. There's a lot of ego in the world, and I would like to avoid it in this thread. On that note, I would agree to take this case privately so that the whole world doesn't need to get bogged down on this. Again, I thought it was a great server.

In summary, Check www.bfroe.com and let me know if you think you've violated those rules.
