    Re: New ROE

    It went like this:

    - mines used to kill everyone and engineers were not happy with blind idiots that drove over them. The blind idiots complained that engies block all the roads.

    - DiCE "fixed" the troubles by making the mines destroyable. And practically useless (the only effective way to stop a tank was an ambush - hide a mine somewhere and when a tank comes close throw a grenade on mine)

    - ofc it didn't work so they made the explosives unexplosive again. Because it wasn't a change big enough they added sv.friendlyFireWithMines options, setting it to 0 by default. And so they made them SMART!!!1! The mines and explosives don't get triggered by the friendlies anymore, the claymores (every sniper has 6 of them) cover all the ground near flags.

    - the number of claymores is reduced again

Yeah, I play engineer a lot...

IMO, the correct method would be:
    - friendly fire is ON
    - when a teammate drives over the mine/walks over claymore and dies he loses a life (no revive possible) and one ticket because of his death. The engi/sniper's teamscore is reduced by 2, no additional teamdamage/vehicledamage/punish.

    And while we're here:
    - the mines (claymores are small enough, with a too big range) should be invisible to enemy team, spotted by their commander/snipers
    - their should be different colored warning signals for the friendlies

who cares about these rules... come on people the server admins make their own rules everyone knows that,,, server to server you will get different types of games play.... Like freedom of speach.... It's freedom of play....... It's a game remember not real life.

        So keep it that way!!!

Well they just contradicted themselves. They probably heard the term "high points servers" and didn't even do the research to find out what it means. So, what are we supposed to do if high points servers are legal but illegal in the ROE?

            Re: New ROE

/quote 1.4.1 Custom maps are never permitted on ranked servers, although we do permit map sizes to be defined independently of maximum players. /unquote

            AND

/quote (d) Playing on “High Points” Servers /unquote

OK, if you have a 64 player map and limit the players to 16 withOUT a time limit, the rounds are going to take a long time and the score is going to be "HIGH POINTS"...

WTF, over? Please pardon my frustration, but this sort of conflict within the ROE is ridiculous!

Is there any section anywhere in the ROE that specifies the amount of tickets a ranked server may/may not run? If not, then how can they say players may not play on high points servers? Again I ask, WTF???

What's with all the garbage that's getting put into the ROE that limits tactics on the battlefield? No jihad jeeps? Next thing ya know it'll be "well if this is Tuesday and we're on Mars a thousand years ago then you can only throw medkits at me or use your wrench on me or you will get banned/reset.

EDIT: Yes, my post was not all that well thought out or cohesively written. It was written in frustration and anger at the ridiculousness that is becoming "BF2".

If you had read the old BFROE it is nearly exactly the same as the new version dated today, I see few differences. That version was written by IndianScount and other BFROE members I believe, then approved by EA.

I've stated the last 2 months that the ROE was getting updated, and yes it's based on my old ROE..

the effectiveness of the BFROE has nothing to do with our name on the ROE..

so lets everyone please take the time to read and learn this new ROE as some of the finer points of BF2 have changed..

                    Re: New ROE

                    Simple solution:

If YOU walk over a freindly Claymore or drive over a friendly claymore, YOU are PUNISHED and the ENGY get's BONUS POINTS! LOL.

                    j/k

Having rules on how I should play a video game is the dumbest thing in the world. As long as someone isn't hacking/glitching then it shouldn't matter how they play.

So you're saying that you favour 'some' rules then?

No, I don't want to have limitations on how I can play the game. It's stupid to have a server that will kick for Bunny hopping or for jihad-jeep or whatever. Things like hacking and glitching the hotel wall in karkand are things that shouldn't be allowed.

is not even in the TOS or in your game manual.
