Well, I've never heard that before. I find it a bizarre notion that 2142 was already finished when BF2 was released. Do you have links to specific topics discussing this? Sorry to sound like I don't believe you but..I don't believe you :-)

2142 was not completed when BF2 came out... that makes no sense. What is true is that 2142 was in development already when BF2 was released. 2142 has not even been beta tested yet so it is still being finished, go to the 2142 site to see the news-

judging by gaming life cycles, I'd highly doubt that 1.6 is the last patch, even with 2142 coming out. Sure, it'll slow down, but you'll still see another patch or two....they'll announce the last one as a 'final' version.

I see your point but if you want to show your support for BF2, then don't buy BF2142.

Its not the end of the world you know, that EA release BF2142.

btw, i might buy bf2142 but thats a BIG maybe. i know its not the end of the world but what im sayin is bf2 is like an unfinished masterpiece (to me anyway) and it would be a shame for it to be left in the dust for a game that could very well be a huge disappointment like halo 2.

Yes BF2 is a great game. Even with the bugs and DICE should fix the bugs/release patches for it.
I enjoy playign BF2, well as long there aren't any ppl on the server ruining my evening

But what if BF2142 comes out to be a great game, since it introduce a new Mode.

I don't think Patch 1.40 is the last patch. As long they can earn money on it, they won't give up the support and patch developement for it.

I think that the 1.6 patch will be the one that fixes all of the problems, like it did for 1942 heh.

Battlefield vietnam came out, yet BF1942 was still far more popular and had continuing patches..... and BFV is a hell of a better concept than BF2142.

I think DICE Canada based in Vancouver, not too far from where I live. They did make SF though, which is rather better than many maps in default BF2, which would be even better if they didnt ruin them through implementing claymore whoring

Only thing embarassing about Canada I think was having Liberal morons in govt for as long as we have.
