And anyone who says "I can't change because I have been doing it all my life this way" is a fool. It takes about 20 minutes MAX to adjust to a new hadn position. Learning the other buttons might take an hour more or so. . .but it will make it all worth it before you have played 10 hours more.

Except that the current setup I have is perfectly fine for me. There isn't a button I need that I can't reach, so why bother changing something unnecessarily? You know, KISS, if it ain't broke don't fix it, etc.

Between the choices, i would choose WASD.

However, UHJK is actually far superior, especially in BF2, because you can map the Right Windows key. So, unlike WASD users, who only have one button under their thumb, I have three.

Wouldnt work for me as i have a built-in, touch-sensitive mouse on my laptop keyboard just below UHJK. that would seriously mess my aim up!

UHJK never even crossed my mind, thanks to enlightening me i think ill probably try that tonight.

As for me for the moment I use WASD although I still use the arrow keys for delta force and a few other games.

evilzucchini do you think you could tell me a basic setup of the keys you use.

I used to use arrow keys back in the days of Doom and GTA1 (!) but since then i've shifted to the far more versatile and sensible WASD. I couldnt go back!

W,A,S,D because "q"(quick spot menu) is right beside it and so are "R"(Reload) and "E"(enter viechles) quit simple

Arrow keys, because back when i was a kid all the old *** PC games used the arrows by default. I remember my old 65mhz comp :)

Plus, i have big hands so i can reach all the keys around them.

I use the arrows. I always used them in my childhood gaming, and I am very used to them. My fingers have found ways around them that other people can never understand.

Here are some of my controls...

UP, Left, Right, DOWN: < > v ^
Jump: Numpad 1
Talk over MIC: NUMPAD 0
Prone: Numpad Delete
Crouch: Right CTRL
Enter/Exit vehicle: l, the button ontop of ENTER.

Arrow keys for movement.
Right CTRL for crouch
Right shift for enter/exit vehicle
Backslash for prone
End (not NUMPAD) for spotting menu
NUMPAD 0 for knife (i.e. the emergency 'Oh noes I just ran out of bullets!' button )
LMB for fire
RMB for jump
Mouse 3 (middle button) for zoom/ironsights
Mouse 4 for rifle/switch firing modes
Mouse 5 for pistol
Spacebar for parachute (easiest button to find when frantic :p )
Apostrophe for squad VoIP

Been that way for over 920h of BF2 and I've used the arrow keys for over 13 years of FPS, so I'm definitely not about to change anything now.

i use the arrow keys, never attempted to use the w,a,s,d. i got my whole keys changed. Prone is the application menu(button next to right ctrl) on some keyboards, jump is mouse3, shocks is numperpad 0, main weapon is num pad 1,sight, mouse 2 and so on. Sprint is right shift, so my keyboard is way over to the left.

For flight, accelerate is mouse 1, decelerate mouse 2 and missiles are right ctrl :)

I keep my middle finger on W, Index and wdding ring finger (lol) on D and A, thumb on space, little finger on Ctrl which is my prone
