I use a Zboard, so big keys for moving left, right, up, down and a bunch of other keys that encircle it allowing for an almighty key layout. :)

for all you crazies who still use arrows; doesnt it feel weird having your mouse hand right next to your other hand? That would really annoy me...

WASD ftw. With arrows you dont get all those handy keys next to it and it also way to close to the mosue. I like being spread out over my keyboard. Basically default, cept I have parachute set to backspace. Much easier to hit.

DeadCRAP_, you put your middle finger on w and the rest just falls into place. Move your ring finger down to hit z.

Like I said, I can reach every key I need without moving my hands off the arrow keys (well, except for when I switch to knife ). My left pinkie hits all of the keys that aren't movement keys and the movement keys are pressed with my index finger and middle finger on my left hand. My right hand controls the mouse, obviously. It's really not as difficult as you're making it out to be. :p It's perfectly comfortable for me (and no, I don't really have big hands, either).

Arrow keys for movement.
Right CTRL for crouch
Right shift for enter/exit vehicle
Backslash for prone
End (not NUMPAD) for spotting menu
NUMPAD 0 for knife (i.e. the emergency 'Oh noes I just ran out of bullets!' button )
LMB for fire
RMB for jump
Mouse 3 (middle button) for zoom/ironsights
Mouse 4 for rifle/switch firing modes
Mouse 5 for pistol
Spacebar for parachute (easiest button to find when frantic :p )

wasd. too many disadvantages to using arrow keys

i use the scroll wheel button for parachute.

I use the arrows. I always used them in my childhood gaming, and I am very used to them. My fingers have found ways around them that other people can never understand.

Here are some of my controls...

UP, Left, Right, DOWN: < > v ^
Jump: Numpad 1
Talk over MIC: NUMPAD 0
Prone: Numpad Delete
Crouch: Right CTRL
Enter/Exit vehicle: l, the button ontop of ENTER.

I don't understand how anyone can use the arrow keys. From the way they are placed, it seems like it was meant for use with the right hand. Not only that, but you have to struggle to reach any other key except the arrows themselves. I used to use the arrow keys way back when I started online gaming with HL1 and all it got me was cramped fingers which is why I use WASD now.
