only change i made to default was to make spacebar secondary (bomb/missile) fire on a jet
you should really learn to use wasd if you don't already - it is a huge advantage over arrow keys

I prefer WASD because theres a pletora of other keys nearby that I can map for handy functions i.e. "E'' enter vehicle

about the w,s,a,d keys do u keep you index finger on the w key and the one to the left of it on the a key and the other side d key? - im lost about them. and i need to be able to prone jump...easily

agreed - wasd for me as well, though I have bound my parachute key to space bar, because whenever I jump off buildings, etc. I invariably end up hitting 7 or 9. With the space bar, no troubles...

I use a Z-board, so they are out on there own, but they are mapped to the w,a,s and d keys.

Used to use the arrow keys for quake, etc but i've since moved to wasd.

I use wasd, cant imagine using the arrows, coz all other keys are so close to wasd, such as 'e' for vehicles, and 'z' for prone.

Only custom keys i got is main gun and knife mapped to mouse keys on my logitech MX518

I keep my middle finger on W, Index and wdding ring finger (lol) on D and A, thumb on space, little finger on Ctrl which is my prone

i use the arrow keys, never attempted to use the w,a,s,d. i got my whole keys changed. Prone is the application menu(button next to right ctrl) on some keyboards, jump is mouse3, shocks is numperpad 0, main weapon is num pad 1,sight, mouse 2 and so on. Sprint is right shift, so my keyboard is way over to the left.

For flight, accelerate is mouse 1, decelerate mouse 2 and missiles are right ctrl :)

Arrow keys for movement.
Right CTRL for crouch
Right shift for enter/exit vehicle
Backslash for prone
End (not NUMPAD) for spotting menu
NUMPAD 0 for knife (i.e. the emergency 'Oh noes I just ran out of bullets!' button )
LMB for fire
RMB for jump
Mouse 3 (middle button) for zoom/ironsights
Mouse 4 for rifle/switch firing modes
Mouse 5 for pistol
Spacebar for parachute (easiest button to find when frantic :p )
Apostrophe for squad VoIP

Been that way for over 920h of BF2 and I've used the arrow keys for over 13 years of FPS, so I'm definitely not about to change anything now.

I use the arrows. I always used them in my childhood gaming, and I am very used to them. My fingers have found ways around them that other people can never understand.

Here are some of my controls...

UP, Left, Right, DOWN: < > v ^
Jump: Numpad 1
Talk over MIC: NUMPAD 0
Prone: Numpad Delete
Crouch: Right CTRL
Enter/Exit vehicle: l, the button ontop of ENTER.
