I still see plenty of snipers (or "claymore-throwers" to be more accurate). And plenty of AT and Engineers use the SMGs.

Our local servers are all claymore unfriendly so people dont spam them. Guess it's a local trend.

depends on map, the USMC engineer shotgun is the best Karkhand - 1 shot kill and AT mines. L96A1 sniper rifle in Sharqi. The rest depends.

I've always been the biggest supporter of the Pump shotgun on Karkand. If they just made him pump that smidgen faster.

But recently I've noticed an HUGE bloom in the number of users. Seriously, in the past it used to be me with my pump shotgun, an engineer (generally with the Jackhammer) in each of the tanks/APCS and that was IT.

Now every 3rd person on the map in a shotgunner. You have medics, Support and Engineers with the pump action.

Is it only my local server that's picked up this trend, or is it all over?

Sounds like your not a sniper. The L96A1 was a true Godsend for those on the PLA team that could not get the M24.

No, I'm definately not a sniper. Unless I'm bored and decide to wreck nubs in CQC on infantry servers using the SVD.

These are my top 4

1. RPK 74 (witch is ALOT better then the MG36)
2. L85A1
3. AKS-47U
4. M4

ill just add that the worst gun in the game is the M249 SAW

By any objective standard, the M249 beats the RPK-74 since patch 1.2. The SAW has always done more damage per second and since patch 1.2 it also has better accuracy. Frankly, all four of those are far from the best. I use the L85 as US since I hate 3-round burst mode but the AKs are better. G36c and QBZ-97 are both better than AKS-74U and M4 among the carbines. I'd have to say my favorite gun is the DAO-12 but the best is probably an AK or the PKM.

personally i like the g36c cause i can get 2 shot kills at sniper ranges yet up close full auto rocks to, it seems more accurate than the e to me.

not if u use it the right way. i once scored 147 kills with the SAW against bots

Basic: AK-101

Unlock: Varies by situation.

I find the AK-101 to be the best all around gun out there. "A gun for all seasons" if you will? Adding the GL is the cat's meow. Those who complain it's nerfed are probably also mad you can't jump and shoot it anymore also. (Yes, I admit they reduced the splash damage a bit TOO much.)

The unlocks are all nice, it just depends on the situation. Like normally, I will always take the l96a as sniper, unless it's a vehicle heavy map, in which case I'll opt for the M95 for it's crew killing capacity. Same thing with most unlocks, they all have there best place and use.

M16/AK's work great for me ,no need to unlock for Medic Class

The G36E sucks ,any noob can use it well

it's way too overpowered
