Zip Lines and Grapling Hooks Tip

I did a search and didn't see this anywhere. Maybe it's common knowledge, but...

Did you know that after you deploy one of these two items, you can pick it up again with "G" (or whatever your kit swapping key is?) I was messing around on Warlord last night and did this by accident. Used a hook to climb a building, got to the top and hit G to pick up a dead medic's kit, picked up my hook instead.

Tried it with the zipline too, and it worked. I only wondered if this was common knowledge, because twice on the same map, I've walked around behind the Mosque flag and found a rope hanging there and a hiding insurgent on the roof.

This would seem like an ideal way for a sniper or spec ops to "tarzan" their way around a map, especially places like the river on Mass Destruction, or the high building flags on Ghost Town.

And if you listen, you can hear the grapling hook "clink" as it lands and the zip line's "whir", so you can be waiting to knife the guy in the face when they come up/land.

Yes it was known, funny is that if an enemy follows you climbing the hook, you can retrieve the hook and the enemy will fall, it also happens with friendlies so be careful when you pick it up again, you might send a teammate to meet the pavement

That "Whir" "Clink" is a siren call to my pistol. Usually happens at Warlord on the TV balcony when they fail to gain entry due to my clays.

Did you know that you can get your tools back reloading off a support kit after a certain amount of ammo has been expended?

One more tip: you can access with very high rooftops if you throw the hook and than jump to from another tall buliding. Dont forget to press USE KEY to catch the rope. :)

also you can throw the grappling hook from the top of a building (just making catc hteh edge) this means you can get off those buildings that would cause serious pain and dont have enuf time for a para drop

Ah! You're right, my bad, but it looks like a nice mod moved it to the right forum.

I knew about the resupply thing, as I've waited next to supply crates just to get another one before. I didn't know you could pick it up when someone was using it though.

I haven't had the chance to try the zip line as a weapon, but it's a crossbow FFS! I'm still trying to kill someone with a smoke and/or flashbang though...

I've seen a place for Zip line kills in the equipment kills section of my stats. I don't know if this is as described above where you pick it up when someone is on it or if it comes from shooting them with it.

Can you imagine capping a flag and (thhwong-klank-whiirrrr) a zip line right through your skull and then homeboy slides down and lands right on top of your corpse? That would be the ultimate Tea bagging!!!

I was playing Warlord the other day, and some dude was wasting guys with the smoke grenade launcher. Killed me once with it, and also I saw about 3-4 more guys show up dead from it shortly after. Im still waiting for the chance to grapple kill a sniper I sneak up on.

it took me ages to work this one out and only did it by accident. i watched an enemy pik up his grappling hook before killing him (of course) and couldnt understand how he did it. did it by accident 2 days later.....

                            thats my story
