Sound after you quit

Im starting to get annoyed of it, when I quit the game, the menu sound drones on for 5 minutes and makes my computer lag to hell and nothing really loads until the process ends, If I end it it does a stutter for like 30 secs then goes away, but still why does it do this?

My computer does the same, But it goes away after like 20 seconds or so.

I know everyone I know computer does it, and no doubt everyones here, but I wonder if it does it on someone who has a beast of a rig?

but.. im sure it would if i ran another 10 icons in my taskbar and set my bf2 so it was running higher detail, hence using more ram.
it does it because its unloading from the swap file.

Mine sometimes does, if you want to quit the game when your actualy playing, open consol and type quit. It immediatly shuts the game down with none of this after effect.

I almost always exit by typing quit at the console and I still get this. I reckon it's cos BF2 uses a ton of memory and doesn't free it up as efficiently as it should. I've not had this problem with any other games. Maybe the guys that don't have this prob have 2 gig of ram. Anyone?

I found that the way to prevent this from happening, on my computer at least, is to quit the game with ALT+F4, instead of using the menu.

I have this problem very long time ago i was running bf 2 on 512MB ram
then i add more ram the problem is gone.

well i don't have this problem, and i got 2gb, so you could be on to someting there, when i look at my CPU/RAM usage when alty+tab out, my ram is like 1.7gb being used by bf2

When I had only 1 gig I had this issue, but since i got 2 gigs it never happens.
