right, what we are saying...that is nothing, wait till it gets worse, because 16 is a drop in the bucket in the length of your life. I has gotten for me, everything is normal, but now, it sucks because I love loud music, but loud noises bother me. I sucks when you like to feel the music. Trust us, it can get way worse.

Yep, if you keep on going down that path things will only get worse metallicaguitrst. All this can be avoided with some simple moderation and hearing protection.

It appears that science is just now begining to offer hope for people with hearing loss and tinnitus. Unfortunately, it's gonna cost an arm and a leg to be treated should that day come.

I too have tinnitus and I couldn't agree more with bitvomit- he speaks the truth. You really don't wanna mess with your hearing as this affliction will stay with you forever. There is no cure for it. I have a constant ringing in my ears 24/7. When I first got it I could not sleep for days. Like when you go to a concert or a club and your whole head is just ringing? I have that all the time. After having it for 16 years I have adjusted to it but I will never again enjoy complete silence-

Wait..I wanna make sure. What are the...what do you call them..symptoms of tinnitus? I don't know..but I might have it. Sometimes...I randomly get this sound in my head that sounds like a TV turning on.

If you have tinnitus, you will know it, there is no question. A constant ringing in your head that does not dissipate. Some more severe cases also get headaches and migranes-

I dunno about you guys, but this thread made me want a pair of good headphones. I just ordered a nice $450 pair. Cant wait to put them to use!

My recording headphones weren't even that much, and are way more than enough for what I use them for..

What are you using these headphones for? Just games? Kind of a waste.. there isn't going to be really any audible difference between a good $100 pair of headphones, and a $400 pair.. Unless you are talking about just a stereo set, or some virtual dolby digital type of thing.

Hahaha I cant wait for the influx of these young gamers to the doctors office only to be told, "No there is nothing we can do for you." I hope you all do not get tinnitus but if you do you can't say you weren't warned! For my next session, I will discuss elbow & shoulder tendonitis.... :)

I rather wear a headphone then terrorising my neighberhood with bf2 sounds. Cause thats exactly what happens if i output it to my way too powerfull dolby digital surround speakers. The old lady beneath me would probably think WW3 has started :laugh:

Go to an Iron Maiden concert. Leave. Go to bed that night. That ringing in your ears from the searing guitar solo's? Keep that ringing there 24/7/365.

What is crazy, technology is on its way to save the day, but as mentioned, it is going to be expensive for sometime (when it does arrive). It never clicks with people when someone says "hey watchout for -------" One has to learn from it to understand. I often did not listen to people when I was younger and more wild, but now, I understand the old adage listen to your elders. Because all of us, knowing what we know now, would be able to go back and make insane ammount of money and get laid all the time. Trust us, we have been there. Protect your hearing.

everything is bad for you. its only a fact of life.

a few days before, before reading this post, i got an audio splitter so i can listen to headphones or sterio without having to mess with cordes.

oh, im developing a habit of drinking vault everyday and im a huge fan of dragonforce. but im A LOT more healthy then my friends, in every way. i just think that being 100 percent safe IS NO way to live because living in a bombshelter watching a wall isnt too appealing to me.

Not what we are saying. I agree, don't put on the tinfoil hat and live in a bomb shelter. Just keep in mind to give it a rest sometimes. Pushing it to much is the bad thing to do. I am someone that likes to go 120% all the time. But in hind-sight, this is where you don't need to go 120% because in the end, what have you gained for it? What do you have to show for it? The only thing to appriciate is the memories of a fleeding-good-time. It is not like you got money in the bank, won the lottery, or earned a house because of it.
