this whole 1.3 server crash issue is rubbish. I jumped on the other nite to play and within one hour 3 servers I was on crashed and I had a ctd on another.

I wish they would fix that ****

I'm currently only playing on servers that seem to have figured out how to minimize the crashes.

I'm amazed that most servers are still active with players when they crash every other round.

Seems a shame that this problem is affecting so many people (including me), I only started playing a couple of months ago, and have had constant problems with being disconnected, CTD :), and now kicked by punkbuster.
I do really like the game though and am trying to keep playing despite all obstacles!

disregard my problem, it was a user error on my part with my dsl setup. Havent had any problems since. Hopefully never.

I have tried all helpful hints and tips ( thankyou) and nothing seems to work. Last night I played on a Quake4 server and had the netgraph on, it showed no problems at all, I go to play BF2 and within 5 minutes I am kicked by pb for 'losing key packets'!
I have now raised a ticket with pb to see if they can help, otherwise I am going to have to give this game up

Hmmm, very strange, if I use commandprompt to ping to a BF2 server, it shows no packetloss whatsoever!
                  Any ideas?

All I know is that it's a server side problem. The packets are lost when they are coming back to you not when you are sending them to the server.

maybe a bug with the server or patch?

Re: "Problem with your connection"..NO THERE ISNT!!

Well, I submitted a ticket to EA, they replied very promptly asking for more information, I sent it to them and have'nt heard since!
However... last tuesday I kept trying to play BF2 and pc kept freezing, crashing and a few blue screens, so I decided to reinstall windows, but it messed up halfway through ( as it sometimes does :) ) so I had to format and reinstall everything, lost loads of stuff I wanted to keep( my fault for not backing up!)
I reinstalled BF2 and got the 1.3 patch from EA games and all has been fine since, not pb kickings and no crashes! ( I hope me posting this doesn't jinx things)
All I did when I reinstalled windows was to make sure I has all the latest drivers, and flashed the BIOS of my Nforce mobo. I have not done anything else, so I am not sure why things are now working ok in BF2
