I suggest people do a lot of single player BEFORE they go into servers. I get way too many people that want to learn in the middle of the dogfight or whatever not.

Startup 16-player dragon valley or w/e you like that has choppers, and practice, practice, practice. More you practice, better you get and even the default combination (F1, F2) wont be a problem :)

You don't always have the luxury of time when a TV shot is needed, hence the real solution being a better ability to predict and control the behavior of your helicopter: you can take shots in every conceivable position almost all the time, it's just a matter of knowing your limits in specific situations. Practice being a good pilot and everything else will fall into place.

Correct. If you watch thecolorpink's solo videos (they are somewhere in the Media section) you'll see he quickly switches to TV and fires in the middle of a barrel roll or whatever maneuver.

Read this from somewhere in this forum, and I get mixed results from it:

Change the "Position 2" hotkey to mouse right click (button 1)

What happens when I practice in co-op would be a single right click immediately switches me to gunner seat AND tv mode. However, when I tried it in a LAN game, most of the time a right click did not switch to the TV mode, just the gunners seat. Not sure if it's a bug, but a double right click did the trick. Don't know how this works on online servers, because I don't think I be good enough to take a chopper and try it out yet. haha. Gotta go find an empty oman server or something..

He just swings the chopper, yaw to the left in the instants before he takes his shot, as i mentioned a few posts up.

I dont see the reason for any specific "techinques".

I have no trouble taking a quick tv shot with F1/F2 setup.

I have troubles with TV bugs, I hate them

The problem isn't with me, i switch so fast with my fingers that even other solo-pilots have called me a macro user. I was letting them know a technique which has helped me and many others, Redux from codeseven, who made that 'duck and cover' video uses/used the same technique as me.

This thread is silly.

If you don't have the quick fingers of a solo veteran, just spin the chopper to the left before you switch. If you do it right you can get the Tv screen to pause over your target. If you do the position + spin technique you're retarded.

I tried another key setup and I sucked so much with it that I had to change back to default =/

I dont see any problems with the default config. The only problem I have soloing is the lag I get from switch to shooting the missile... Sometimes it takes so long that it makes it impossible to hit closer range targets.

My experiance is that, the more violent the mavourve, the less the chopper tends to spin...
A good keysetup will do the rest...
Hovering only ensures imidiate twist response from the chopper...

Anyone still aiming left of a target, will need to get back to the drawing board if they take solo choppering seriously...
Couse a guy taking off alone in a chopper, is just a guy taking off alone in a chopper...
Solo piloys are capable of so much more...

The only key changes I can see needing a new mapping are mouselook and Enter/Exit. Everything else is fine if you have nimble fingers... something the ladies also love :)

I fly solo and i use default buttons. I just practiced out and im quick at switch/right/left/death/switch.

It's better sometimes, because you can really position yourself the way you want, but i also have a buddy with me who is a great gunner so that also helps.

As long as both are communicating and know their "targets" and their importance i think solo isn't much necessary.

Oh and by the way, TV going through the cockpit, unregistered, about 20 times last night on this Dragon Valley server. Aiming at the back helped a lot.

Well, I can understand why people want to fle solo. There was one time I got onto the gunner position in the AH-1Z and the noobish pilot flew so high that everyone can see us up there... not long later we got anti-aired.
