Eventually you won't even have to compensate, hell, I just point myself right at whatever I want to kill and get it off quick. It's easy to roll/evade and get one out all within a few seconds. Soon enough you'll learn how to easily take out a F35. You just need to get lucky if you want to shoot down a J10, he has to be an idiot going 500mph or flying straight at you. The hitbox is still a pain compared to the F35.

The problem with taking a gunner is, sometimes they're gonna suck, and not know how to use the TVs correctly, sometimes you're better off taking sometime by Hellfire. That's happened to me waaaay to much. If you're soloing, you have no one to blame except yourself.

when going solo what i usually do is point the chopper left of the target and by the time it spins right it i will already hv switched to TV missile and the target will be within the crossharis. Much more quicker IMO..then waiting for it to spin right again and align with enemy

Funny how when I get a gunner I seem to die more often then I do solo...
It's simply cause there are A LOT of "crappy" gunners...
1/2 don't know how to shoot the TV, and the ones that do seem to miss 90% of the time...

I'd rather not get a gunner I don't know...skill level matters.. NOT RANK...

I personally like having a pilot, but it's difficult to find one that will actually fly in the correct directions and evade enemies. Yesterday I had one decent pilot that got me lined up for 24 TVGM kills. However, he left the game and I was stuck with a really crappy pilot that would not even attempt to barrel roll out jets or spin around to an attacking helo.
It is good to solo a helo sometimes..Get's your skills with the TVGM up and your meanuvering skills up.

I'm having a small problem with the soloing .

I changed the binding so that it will automatically switch to TV, but I want a thumb button to switch to pilot's seat, but it's configuring..It's still stuck on F1 even though i changed it to C.

I hate it when a pilot will not turn to look at the other attack chopper!!!
You spot him like 10-15 times and the pilot doesn't care. He's either:
                  A. Trying to cap a flag
                  B. Firing hellfires at 1 troop
or my favorite C. Completely oblivious to anyhting and just flying around.

And after any of the above senerios, you get punked by the other chopper.

I usually get horrible pilots and one last night i spotted the enemy chopper who was off to our 9 o' clock 3 or 4 times on wake island and the pilot decided to go along his merry way and go to the helipad to get repairs and we got tv missled. Then he yells at me for not shooting the chopper down. it was hilarious. i asked him if he knew that you have to aim a little in front of the chopper for me to be able to hit it with TV. then he was quiet.

I wish that was all most of my pilots did. Failed to lead the target, HA! It's worse when they line their own crosshairs up on the target, leaving yours looking at dirt. That's the number one way I've been shot down by tanks. My pilot flies low, with his HUD aimed at the tank. I'm looking at dirt, saying or typing, "nose up." PWNT

I solo whenever I have the opportunity, because I am SICK AND TIRED of n00bs who think the cannon is the only weapon on the attack chopper.

And when I spam chat "USE THE TV MISSILE" I get no response at all.

I have a fairly good strike rate with the TV missile and find I'm normally much more effective soloing then being in a deathtrap with a n00b, who either can't fly or can't gun.

I have recently started soloing as is really a requirement for clan matches now but only prob is i havent been a gunner for soooo long i cant hit the side of a barn, well i prob could hit the side of a barn but i find it really difficult hitting the other choppers. Ground targets arent really a prob but those other bloody choppers i just cant hit grrrrrr

The only way you're going to get better is to practice. Also, aim for the back of the heli, that way you're more likely to get the hit to register

Just out of curiousity, how many times do you see the tv-missle go straight throught the other chopper, I could 'ave headshot some pilots with the missle but it just doesn't register.....

I used to get that quite often before, but as I said, aiming for the back truly helps. That and making small corrections all the time makes you hit more often. Nowadays I rarely miss unless the heli is moving really fast in one direction, or of course, if it lags too much...
