Its cheap IF you can spawn quick at the hotel before it starts to spin up.

In the end being the TOW shooter you have to be quite lucky. Not in the aiming department but in the timing of it. I've actually shot pilots that were stupid enough to come directing across from the heli pad to the tow and got them midway across the bay.

If you want to be able to get away from the tow what you can do is slide the heli across as its starting up. ie. tilt it back and to the side. Normally the tow will miss. This does depend on the technique that the tow shooter is using though.

In the end though, if you get show more than once with it then what the hell is the rest of your team doing? Hotel is one of the edge flags, it should have been attacked fairly early on by your "team mates" or are they also lining up for the helo?

Ive seen a guy who had a counter to the tow, somehow he knew where to postion himself from the mec base and hit the tow with his eryx all the way across.

After a while of practice i can do it, but i have never tryed it in a game.

As for it being valid or not, i would have to say it is perfectly fine. It takes time to learn, and even once you do learn it, it is still pretty tuff.

There are hundreds of ways to destroy the TOW at Hotel. USE your HEAD. It's there for a reason.

They might nurf it to a pillow shooter.

I can't do it, but I don't think it's cheap. In fact, if someone killed me that way, I would probably just tell 'em "nice shot" and move on.

It's the same on Ghost town, the USMC can hit the chopper too. Really sucks.

Get your commander to drop arty on that area before you take off, or a car.

I think its fine. That comparison that was made about the hotel glitch is apples and oranges. The hotel glitch is just dropping a car and driving. This actually takes a fair bit of time to practice, plus you need to remember the spawn timings. This requires skill.

You know, the more I play competatively the more I see a lot of these complained about tactics as being valid =/

any stupid pixel aimer can do it, and to me its as dishonorable as the karkand hotel glitch, now before you say no its not as bad they are both coded in the game and have not been removed, both you have no defenseive responce as the victum and both are cheap shots that can not be returned, funny though the karkand one will get your stats reset...this one should too

Having no defensive response as the victim is your rational for whether it's dishonorable or not? hmmm, let me see. What defense does a sniper have against a tank? What defense is there against an arty barage? What defense does a tank have against a TV missle from a jet? I can't compare this at all to the Karkand Hotel glitch. This game is based largely on the rock-paper-scissors concept. This is just another example of that. If the TOW is taking you out, attack the TOW. The only thing cheap about this is that you don't have to put tokens in the slot to fire the TOW.

exactly as the guy said abouve, how stupid can you be to fall for the same trick twice? this always ammuses me ( i spelled it wrong and i dont care) when i kill someone from the same sniper spot because the noob wont realize that there i am waiting for him and i will not move until i am killed, so he dies 4 times in a row.

It's definitely a reality in the game, although the number of people that can do it is minimal. If you get shot more than once or twice, Take the matter into your own hands, i.e. forget the chopper and take the hotel flag, snipe the guy (easiest), have commander arty/cartillary just before chopper spawn, etc.

I've seen that before but thought they lowered the range of the TOW cause of it. haven't seen this since 1.2.

Hmmm, I was watching a TPG guy no more than a month ago owning some MEC players with the TOW at their helo pad with the TOW on Sharqi. So as far as I know, it's still doable.
