Know what. I don't listen to music while playing. I did when I was a new player. I'd crank up Pantera or Stuck Mojo while I was getting owned. Thanks for reminding me.

Dream Theater, Pagan's Mind, Symphony X. None of the slow stuff...but I only rarely listen to it because everynight I'm on TeamSpeak with my pals and I like to be able to hear the chatting and the sounds of the game. I can put it real low so that it's like (very far, distant) background noise, but otherwise I'd have to stop and listen to the guitar solos or the indstrumental interludes which is no good in the heat of battle.

Well, I've been playin this game for soooo long that not having music now gets boring fast. Unless I'm a SL then I usually turn it off but hell, most of the time it's hard for me to find people who actually use mics!

I never listen to music while playing games, it throws off my concentration. But I see some quality musical tastes here...namely Dream Theater. Love them to death. Oh and whoever said Coheed & Cambria needs to be shot. Every time someone listens to C&C, a little kitten is mauled to death by bears.

Yeah, Dream Theater is one of the bests, even though I primarily listen and play death metal, but lately I've been in love with the new Tool cd. Saw em live in May here (3rd time) and I can never get enough of them.

Pink Floyd for planes (it helps keep your rythym when flying). AC/DC for Karkand infantry.

I like metallica and lots of metal bands, but I don't really like bands that scream/growl.. I hate that ****. Like death metal.. Can't stand it. Or any of that emo kid music they call "hardcore" or whatever. Some Avenged Sevenfold like the older stuff (which I don't like as much) sounds kind of like that, but yeah.

Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, GNR, Scorpions, Dream Theater, System of a down, Ozzy, Pantera, Van halen, Megadeth, AC/DC, Boston, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Korn, old Linkin Park, And so many other ones I can't think of..

I also listen to a lot of solo guitarists.

Jason Becker is my favorite. And then a band with him in it, Cacophony, which is Jason Becker and Marty Friedman, who was the lead guitarist with Megadeth for a while. Extremely awesome.. if anyone wants to hear them, either get "Altitudes" or "Perpetual Burn" by Jason Becker, and get Concerto - Cacophony.

Metallica, u like the Deftones? Check out Atreyu man, I feel ya on the growling thing. But these guys balance their vocals so well with the screaming and then the singing it's unreal. Kinda like a Yin & Yang thing. And I haven't heard a guitarist as talented as the one from Atreyu since Angus Young.

That guy is nothing.. and angus was FAR from a great guitarist. Nothing special at all.

But yeah, Atreyu, my friend used to listen to them, and I listened to them whenever he did.

And I never really listened to deftones. I remember Metallica's summer sanatarium had like limp bizkit, deftones, and linkin park. That's the only time I really ever heard of them. I probably heard them alot on the radio, but it's probably one of those things where it's like "ohhhhhh THIS song? oh that's deftones?".. you know what I mean.
