yes it takes some doing to good, so practice on unranked servers, then move to ranked servers

Just fly with someone in a bomber who knows what he's doing.

Otherwise, if you want to learn how to fly, it takes alot of time.

yep i got at least ten hours single player time on cleansweep before i could come out of a ranked server with just a few deaths and first place.

I like my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Many good comments about the Saitek Cyborg EVO. I tried them both in the store and the Logitech felt better to me.

It's common knowledge that flying planes is so easy that all you need to do is hop in, throttle up, go AFK sip on some iced tea for 10 minutes and come back to your 100 kills and zero deaths.

In all seriousness though:

My advice to you: practice. Can't expect to be great at something with no previous experience (unless your nickname is PlaneWhore). Having a joystick and a J-10 doesn't hurt either. Your best bet (and easiest option) like others have suggested is to go ride shotgun with a decent bomber pilot, but I think you'll quickly discover good bomber pilots are as rare as the assault class.

I have a Logitech Attack 3 joystick, you cant pilot a chopper with it(as far as im aware) but for jets it works just fine. 20$ Best Buy.....

Check out ^his^ videos. They teach you a LOT, except dogfighting. BUT dogfighting styles can be so radically different that you just have to figure out how to do it yourself.

I learned to fly off of PlaneWhore's videos. I would say that I am pretty good now.

Or just go shotgun with a bomber pilot.

You blouse There is no point spending money on a joy stick when u can do better with a good mouse!! Just turn your mouse sensitivity up high!
Thats what i did and it improved my skillz by 50% U just got to get used to it first which don't take long!

Here's what you should do: unistall game and the reinstall with no patches (vers 1.0) Play as commander and sit in a plane. Get your kills and time. Thats how i got it last June when the game came out. ohh yeah, verison 1 was the best ever. dolphin diving, c4 throwing.....oh how i miss it...... never was too good at flying but now i can do just fine in the air, doesnt really take too much skill. It took me about 20 minutes and i could keep up with the Leutenants and such pilots. But yeah good luck!!!!

Bomber passenger is the way to go. That's how I got mine. But recently I've become a decent pilot. I'm really good with bombers, what with the super-ownage bomb drops from those things. Long live the F-15!
