Just Ordered BF2

And I am real anxious to play it. Unfortunately, I doubt that I will get the shipment by the end of the week. I love America's Army and always thought vehicles would really take the game to the next level so I splurged and got this as well as a joystick and usb headset ($75 overall, which isn't too bad, but I don't exactly have money to throw around either).

I thought the demo was just meh, but that was against bots and a cut down map, so hopefully the full game will blow my mind. Anyways, I can't wait to start playing so I'm prowling around the boards. Are there any noob servers? I don't want to get my *** handed to me nonstop after all....

dont worry ull have plenty of fun playing here,but try and play some singleplayer before u go out onto the front lines of multiplayer.

Just realize that this game doesn't really play like most others. A lot of my clan was disappointed at first at just how hard they thought it was to kill people. We were all coming off of COD, CODUO and CSS...games that really focus in on close quarters combat. Its a whole different game from the demo. My advice is pick some kit you like and work it until you're good. Get your medals and badges, then when you've reached expert and are fairly good with a certain weapon/gameplay style....switch over and pick a new kit. I used to hop from kit to kit to kit in a round just getting frustrated. I'd be a medic for the first part, then get blasted by a tank. So i'd come back as anti tank only to run into 20 guys on foot or a whole pile of friendly bodies in need of a revive.

Have good luck with crashing after every 3 maps on servers. And a bunch of other wonderful bugs that BF2 has to to offer. Like shooting someone in the face only then to be shot by him and then think to yourself, WTF!

Then there is the red/blue tag bug which has been around since forever, have fun with that one. Then there are stupid smacktards that just ruin the game for you, and well, a lot of other things.

Welcome to the game! There are a lot of bad players out there and equally a lot of good one's, so my first advice is to start looking for a server/clan/community that promotes teamplay and fairplay. Try searching around in this forums.

Try to get someone to show you the ropes ASAP and that will answer a lot of newbie questions...such as:

why people on my team kept killing me when I am going for the jet? LMAO.

LOL indeed. have fun playing a year old beta game filled with annoying bugs which DICE will not fix because they're too busy with 2142.

good choice. bf2 is a fun game.

i dont know about taking one kit all the way to expert though.. but i do recommend sticking to one kit for a long time until you feel the need for a different style.

i remember my beginner days as spec ops... switched to sniper and thats when heads were blowing off =D

Enjoy the game - it's advisable to play 1 player mode initially to get the feel of the game before you join pub servers, and this site is a well spring of information about tips and tricks. (as well as a whine/b!tch/flame haven for complainers) The guy above who talked about choosing one kit and getting good with it gave you good advice, also I found that playing smaller (16-32 player) servers can help - the 64 player servers are hard for new people - soo many players jumping around can get difficult. Play single player mode to learn the maps and spawn points and to learn your way around the vehicles. Best of luck.

Those who hate BF2 hate it for all the same reason. They dont kno where the enemy is coming from or going to be. Theres no line in the sand to see where your area is and where the enemies area is. I hear that alot from ppl who play Novalogic games. The enemy is always in the same spot, enabling u to suspect exactly where your going to have to be and shot.
