The way the gamespy ID system is now, it is a hell of a lot easier for server owners to keep track of the glitchers and other cheaters. This is not Counter-Strike, it's hard enough as it is keeping up with the stat padding and hacking as it currently stands. Enabling this would only complicate the issue a little more than needed.

Which is why you ban via PID, IP or CD-Key.

Everyone is given a unique PID# this would not change the number just the name linked to it...

Much like how the DNS system works....

yeah, servers should keep track of PID's not SN's.... once a month is acceptable

I voted yes.. Because I want to be able to get rid of a clantag aswell..

Saying no to this is a bit dumb imho.. Like was said before, players have unique ID's, that won't change with changing names.. Just ban idiots, cheaters and lamers by ID and you're done.. I don't see the problem, and therefor don't understand people saying no to this.. It's a normal feature in almost any other online game..

how about a 1 time change? That way, people could remove tags from thier account name, then they could use tags with their new clan, or if they don't have a clan anymore.
