I know some people think this is dumb. But i wanna change my name without losing my stats. I think its a better idea then making new account. Maybe only do it once a month?

The way the gamespy ID system is now, it is a hell of a lot easier for server owners to keep track of the glitchers and other cheaters. This is not Counter-Strike, it's hard enough as it is keeping up with the stat padding and hacking as it currently stands. Enabling this would only complicate the issue a little more than needed.

Knowing EA/Dice, if they try to do that, something else will go horribly wrong and the patch that tries to change your name will make things much worse. Just leave things as they are.

This is why there is a prefix and I didn't create a new name to join a clan. My name now is my third and am happy with it. I like that you can't be unaccountable. If you act like a douchebag everyone knows and I want it left just the way it is.

I have to go with No, stop flirting with my mother, The reason, i know someof you have names like 2005 or clans that dont exist anymore, but what about knowing a persons profile only their name, if they change it, you wont know who he is, for example if 2 guys are good pilot and gunner and play on the same server, same side etc. Plus it will add confusion, and if you see a statpadder, hacker or any sort, then they change their name, you report them, "Player name X doesent exist"

Changing your name is important for those who want to join clans. Cheaters and hackers arent going to benefit from it. What if the patch included a list of all the players previous names. Besides every player has his own PID so its not like they'll be completely lost.

You silly idiot, there is a prefix area for just that reason. There is no need to create a new account just to join a clan.

It's your name you picked it think of it like a tattoo, you're stuck with it or you can go through the pain of a new profile. You could look on the bright side and think upbout the vastly better K/D ration.

smokejumper, some people joined clans before the prefix option WAS an option, this was added in a patch.

Id like it, i dont know why anti-cheat programs etc cant follow the PID instead of name??
