Those slow jet are my favorite prey.

imo it is also againt the ROE.

No one should be allowed setting up special rules on how you are supposed to fly your vehicle/aircraft.

Yeah I have seen it before, not sure if it was the same server but I have seen the hang gliding rule. Simple thing is if they have this as a rule and you don't follow the rules you will be kicked. Find another server to play on if you don't like their rules.

Following that line of reasoning, I could rent a server and set up rules like:

- no hovering a helicopter.
- no sitting still in a jeep.
- no lying in concealment and waiting for enemy to approach.

Awesome logic there. If the thing is well within the capabilities of the vehicle, like hovering for the F35 or a helo, but yet the server owner doesn't like it when people do that, just kick them!

Kick them for anything you like - you're the demi-god of that server, your word is law, you paid your bucks, and even though it's a ranked server, you can make new rules about how people can use "your" vehicles! Yay!

I think I'll host a server but I'll have a rule that only those players whose names contain "R2" can't fly helos on Tuesday afternoons in July.

Rules that are the same on all ranked servers? A level, predictable playing field? We don't need no stinking consistency and fairness!

Those who say "play somewhere else if you don't like our unique set of rules" are saying that it's good for the community to force players to navigate through a maze of servers with conflicting and inconsistent local laws and customs, little random rules of the week enforced by somebody who is picking and choosing which portions of the BFROE shall apply to his server and which really do not. Fantastic. Makes so much sense to me. Shall I go to your clan's website and read through the 14 pages of your unique set of rules before I join the server?

"Hmm... now is this the server where it's OK to C4 the flag but you can't hover the F35? Or is this the one where Spec Ops can go into UnCaps but tanks can't? Or maybe it's the one that requires us to VoIP when in squads? Or was that Ventrillo? What is their TS password, anyway?"

I think I'll start my own server where pilots aren't allowed to hover in helos, but are allowed to hover in F35s. And where tanks must stay in constant motion, and can never sit by repair crates or shoot within 100 meters of any flag. Hey it's my server, right? Any random rules I can get away with imposing, why not?

EA sure doesn't give a hang for anything other than ensuring that some chump is paying three grand a year to run a process on somebody's rack-mounted server in Virginia. Or you're 18 and you'd like to use your Mom's credit card to rent a ranked server from one our Trusted Partners? Have at it, junior - you're now the Admin with God-like powers over anyone unlucky enough to enter your little hell.

Yeah, I just got kicked from a server today cause one of the admins didn't get the chopper. What a puss.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Admins are generally... arseholes who don't even follow their own rules and pretend not to be there when you want a real tker booted. :evil:

I was almost kicked yesterday doing the same thing in their server. I keep taking down their helos in the F35, still going well over 400mph mind you. They said "We frown upon hang gliding. Don't do it again." I told him I wasn't nearly hovering when I shot them down. For the subsequent killings I reported my speed every time they went down. "This time I was over 800mph.... This time I was over 1000mph." They never said a word to me again. I told them why aren't I allowed to use the F35's advantages such as hovering? They didn't respond.

BTW, my score for that round was 55-2. It was fun.

OP, so I guess you were using the hover ability of the jet to slow down enough to gun down a chopper? And they complained of the tactic employed because the chopper crew couldn't react and move out of the way fast enough? So in effect, the admin's kicked you for using your abilities/skills in flying the F35?

Just from that I would venture a guess that any chopper crews they put up are not skilled enough to counter this threat...only takes 2 dumbfires to take down a jet, especially a SLOW moving jet. :) They should have invited you into their clan or at least invited you to do some training with their chopper crews!

Looking at this from a different point of view, wouldn't limiting the way a kit or vehicle is utilized on their server be in violation of the ROE?

And limiting which players can use which vehicles be also a violation of the ROE?

What are a players options when this sort of stuff happens? Besides, just move along to the next server...

Edit: I'll drop by the ROE sites and look at this or bring it up...

Yeah Rub-UFS...that would be them. That's pretty funny, I should have done that as well. And Pyryck, it's not like I was using the f35's hover ability at all. I could've been using any jet in the game and still have done it. After all, like I said, I was only slowing down to around 600 or so to do occasional strafing runs/kill choppers.

It's pretty sad that some servers are doing this, or similar things like this. I'm pretty sure it has to be against the ROE, or else, like someone said above, you never know what to expect when you log into a server when their rules are all different...

hi,
informally i apologise for your kicking as i was not online at the time but slowing a jet so a chopper will drop flares is a gd tactic as chopper flares reload quickly,
However on behalf of AcB it is an official rule of the server and is stated clearly hence, it must be obeyed and a kicking the offender is cleary within ROE.
Finally i hope this does not discourage any of you from playing on our server and to be honest your more than welcome to come, we try our best to keep a clean fun to play server but when you have 20 complete t0ssers its quite hard , i also want you to know that when i wake up tomorrow i will start a topic on the acb website and a poll to negate this rule as many of us use it.

Quite interesting. So apparently your clan is trying to gain an unfair advantage by engaging in actions against server rules. Honestly, I have no problems getting kills in that server. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. As you can see now, I am upset. I don't have anything against AcB members personally, but when they pull crap like that I think it's ridiculous. I'll be looking forward to 'owning' some more in that server soon.

i think u got the wrong end of what im saying here im saying that most of us do it, but its not to gain an unfair advantage at all because i dont fly in thinking that im hangliding nor do i think im getting a unfair advantage, because if i was caught i would be kicked as i have done for things such as negative score, so dont go off on one because we're not trying to make the server a point fest for acb members at all, we try or best to keep ****ers who ruin the fun of the game out.:|:

If most of you do it, then you can't kick nonmembers for doing it too. That's all I'm saying. That is called hypocrisy.

As for your last statement, I guess I'm the '####er that is ruining the fun.' Apparently I'm not allowed to use jets in your server at all. OK.

If I can't slow down in a jet to straffe choppers, then you TELL me how slow I am allowed to fly in order to stay within your guidelines. Or do I need to keep my finger on AB the entire game?

to be honest i dont know theres no specifics i believe its a stupid rule brought in by 1 or two fools who are admins not mentioning names though who dont like getting killed 5 secs after takeoff

Yup, just got kicked now from their server for "Being disrespectful."
AcB Squeez or something similar told the PLA attack helos to stay away from the carrier...even though they were hovering over land on Dalian... more specifically he told one particular pilot. He gave him LESS than 3 secs and he was kicked. Now tell me how are you able to remove yourself from the airspace within 3 secs in a helo?

So I see he gets kicked and I said, "Dude, you only gave him like 3 secs."
AcB Squeez replies, "I'll give you less. Mind your f*cking business."
Finding this humorous I reply, "No wonder your clan is all over the forums."
And I get kicked immediately for "Being disrepectful." lol

Just thought it was funny. If you feel like padding your stats, go to their pathetic server and own their clan. Just lettin ya know...
