I was playing in 24/7 Wake [AcB] server, and was all of the sudden kicked for "hang gliding." (I was in an F-35). Anyone hear of this before? I apologize if it's already been discussed, but I couldn't find anything. I logged back in and asked the admin what it was....he said "Flying 10mph in jets is frowned upon." Now, the only time I somewhat slow down (to maybe around 600 or so mph) is doing the occasional strafing run. So I told the admin that and said good luck with his server and proceed to find a better one. I was kind of dominating their clan (AcB), so maybe that was the real reason. But anyways, anyone ever encounter this before? I'm just curious.

Re: Kicked for "hang gliding"?
Yeah I have seen it before, not sure if it was the same server but I have seen the hang gliding rule. Simple thing is if they have this as a rule and you don't follow the rules you will be kicked. Find another server to play on if you don't like their rules.

Wow... I've never heard of that before. If anything, slow flying enemy jets is a good thing: makes it easier to bring them down. :p

Re: Kicked for "hang gliding"?
Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I don't know what the deal was. I was never once floating around real slow. Like I said, the slowest I ever go is around 600 or so. So it was just a little rediculous to me. Now if I was just hovering in one spot of the map, just sitting there, then I could somewhat understand....but anyways yeah, nuff of that bs.

Re: Kicked for "hang gliding"?
While it is lame to slow the jets down to the speed of a snail to kill stuff, i do believe it's against the ROE for them to enforce that kind of rule.

Re: Kicked for "hang gliding"?
Edited the above....I'm falling asleep in my chair. I mean 600, not 400. The only time i'll go 400 or slower is if I'm really damaged in order to repair. I'm goin to bed heh

Re: Kicked for "hang gliding"?
Having planes slow down to the point of ridiculousness is supposed to be an advantage? What a stupid rule this 'hang gliding' nonsense is. Last week I took out a hovering F-35 on gulf of oman no problem, quite satisfying actually given the rapage the pilot obviously intended to reap.

Re: Kicked for "hang gliding"?
The search engine isn't always used to much here though, it is pretty dodgy, especially on a topic that a particular word is used alot, it can turn up just about anything that has nothing to do with what you actually want to read about. They need to implement the 'specific phrase' function into this search engine like other vboards do, not sure if they hacked it in, but it works.Originally posted by CyberDuckNot to be a idiot but I dont think you looked hard I remember a thread on this awhile ago, I used the search button and just typed in "Hanggliding" and it popped up :o
