Well, there isn't helis either, they're hybrids. Plus we have mechs wich will be uber killing machines in the hands of a good pilot, like jets.

ON TOPIC:

I have mixed feeling about this. I've never been big plane pilot myself, but the challenge of havin 'em around has kept the game interesting.

They're saying those new gunships can fly like planes, tho. They said dogfighting is still possible, but that it's more like WWII dogfights. I can't see that being too bad a thing.

Just gonna have to wait 'n see.

saying they took out jets is like saying they took out medic, they did neither. from what i understand, jets are combine with helicopter. as long as they go fast, im fine with not having dumb bombs.

Is this really surprising? All the nerfing and whining from the noobs has gotten most of the vehicles nerfed hard. We also just got infantry only mode which totally takes out vehicles from the game. lets look at them in 2142:

-Tanks now require 2 people to be effective (machine gun no longer operable by main driver)
-Walkers require 2 to be fully operational
-No jets at all (nothing to be scared of from the sky)
-VTOL gunships weaker than attack choppers
-APC no offensive capabilities, just emp


Its getting to point that there is no reason to use vehicles anymore. We are 136 years into the future but yet our technology and vehicles are worse than they are today?

So true, EA are listening to the community, but in the wrong ways. One by one each veichle is being renderd useless.

you sir, are dumb. balance applys to every element of gameplay as a whole.

this is true, but by that same token, the guy doing the tanking doesnt have to worry himself with double duty and the gunner can be that much more effective at his job aswell.

-Walkers require 2 to be fully operational

just like attack helicopters or the dpv do now.

basically all the elements of bf2 are in the 2142. the difference is that they are fused and made more accessable.
