I think you just need to clear your graphics cache/shaders.

I get really bad lag and low frame rates when in or around a large group of people get away from the group and frame rates go back to normal.

CPU AMD Althon XP 3000 2.17Ghz
GPU ATI X800 Pro ATI Vista Beta Drivers
RAM 2GB of OCZ OverClocked Dual Ram
            Soundcard Turtle Beach Catalina
            Patch Type 1.4 Beta Full
Event Get really bad lag when a group of people all get in one general area of any map, 1.3 runs perfect for me only happens with 1.4B.

Frame Rates 40/45 when not in a large group of people. In a large group frames rates drop to 10/15 or screen locks up fpr a few seconds.

feedback: please add a death animation when you kill someone in a TOW or stinger with non explosive weapons like a pistol, machine gun ect.., I keep overshooting thinking theyre alive alive, I think a head down animation (like when u kill someone in the machineguns in the jeeps) would be nice. this has been like this since the game came out.

For all you noobs out there, which means everybody and everyone. You can probably combat the prone delay by pressing CTRL instead of Z, in my case F. Tapping the crouch key will take away all the pain and suffering you noobs, used it all the time in 1.3. But see, now I have a problem, I have the CTD like all others and I know I'm supposed to post the specs but it seems to be a common problem, like in 1.2.

Re: 1.4 Feedback and Error Reporting

I havent heard of this problem before so it could be my audio card. The problem is VERY evident by watching the youtube video I uploaded. At some point durring the game it began playing digital static randomly and would play BF2 audio clips at inapropreate times durring play. It killed the sound in the center channel and would sometimes restore it.

The audio was fine the first time I played singleplayer. I had only Fraps running in the background at that time. I then turned Teamspeak on and went onto a multiplayer beta server. Thats where the trouble began. It seemed to react sometimes with Teamspeak and created wierd effects when I tried to talk on Teamspeak (leads me to think audio card). I then went to single player and the problem wasnt evident until part way through. Then, it stopped again.

In the video I have the point at which the multiplayer started glitching and the point at which the single player started and stopped glitching.

                    My system is:
                    AMD 64b 3700+ San Diego
eVGA SLI motherboard and 1x 7800gt both with up to date drivers (on fresh instal)
                    1gig Corsair XMS 2-2-2-4 ram
Audigy 2ZS with up to date drivers (not using the OpenGL beta ones)
My system isnt overheating in its P180 case with 5 120mm and 1 80mm fan.

The audio settings in the game are set to High (not X Fi).

I havent heard of anyone else having the same problem. I will test further to see if I can isolate the problem.

                        Feedback:

I know we all want fixes to bugs before any new features are added, but I really think that, although co-op is nice, it really needs to have the larger maps (ie the 32- and 64-player versions as well as the 16-player) and unlocks added to it to make it a decent gametype. Same story for single-player, incidentally. I know these issues can be gotten around with a mod, but I really think this should be included as part of the regular BF2 - why not? I don't see the point of restricting it to no unlocks and only the 16-player maps.

But more important than that, please allow the in-game comms for co-op! The whole point of co-op is to co-operate, and to do that, you need to communicate. It's so much easier with the BF2 VoIP than it is to Alt+Tab out of BF2 and join a new TeamSpeak server every time you choose a new game server.

Patch 1.3 and Patch 1.4 have caused random idle bots that will not move in SP and Co-op.

Also adding additional weapons to open slot indexes in kits makes the idle bot syndrome even worse.

Yea, mine is also happening in regular and SF 1.3 now as well. It is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo irritating. I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers to no avail. I tried turning the in game from high to medium to low to software and every other combination. Nothing stops it. Its only in BF2 as well so its definantly a recent thing that just started on BF2 side. I had it happen before a while ago as well, maybe half a year ago with BF2. I dont recall how I got it to stop though. This is so absolutely infuriating

Found out more info on it. Seems its a punkbuster release problem that everyone d/led yesterday. The same problem has been going on with AA for 2 months apparently:
