Re: Hours played vs. stats discussion

I broke my leg last summer so I got a LOT of time at home. Naturally BF2 occupied most of my day. Some guys just dont work, they play on days, and go chill out at the evenings/nights. Some people dont have to worry about their finances, and since days are boring usually, and action takes place at nights... youll see where Im heading.

I used to play 3 to 4 hours a night after work then about 10 to 16 hours a weekend to work hard at getting rank and awards. When I changed my acount to match my new clan i gave up the rank of gunny, hard earned in the early days, I am now to captain and have most awards however some of the expert awards have thus far eluded me. At a certain point when I noticed the fact that many of the high rankers with awards use what i call legal stat padding like only playing on 64 slot servers with low amounts of people on, only playing on servers with ff off, leaving servers when they notice better players are present that can kill them, only playing on their own servers where they set up advantages like kicking anyone who can kill them ect ect ect, i became a tad disalusioned and gave up and play a lot less now. The rank and awrads mean very little to me anymore, I wish there had not been so many exploitable variants for gaining rank and medals.

I am 41 yrs. old, when I was a kid we played ball until it got too dark to see everyday, & loved it, now I play a game for 4 hrs. a day, & less accomplished peeps claim we have no life rotflmao

I have participated in bowling leagues, baseball leagues, & chess tounaments, & have never done anything "half-way"

Besides earning the rank of Major General in the pubs I found time to compete in the Cal 8v8 open, & the 12v12 open w/ winning seasons

i play for at least 2-5 hrs a night after i get off of work. after that i'll hang out with my fiance.

as far as people that mentioned getting headaches. i don't know if any of you wear glasses. if you do that might be a problem. i wear them and used to get headaches if i was at computer to long. it didn't matter if it was a lcd or crt monitor. last time i went to my eye doctor i paid $20 extra to get some anti glare coating thing that is suppose to block the "bad" rays from the computer. not sure what the correct term is. anyways ever since i got these glasses i can sit in front of a monitor all day and never get a headache. might be something any eyeglass wearers might want to look into.

Re: Hours played vs. stats discussion

My own spm is 1.12, I've just never really played for score.

I've clocked 220 hours SQL it almost invariably ends with me staying out of the main assault and providing spawn for the squad. Never played Jet or Chopper for any length of time and take armour when it's sitting around. Never whored/cheated/padded in any round.

I enjoy the variety of the different maps with different kits, the stats don't really mean anyone's a better or worse player some just don't play exclusively for the points, some obviously do it's just personal choice.

The best games I have revolve around a great squad and commander (Teamplay) and a challenging enemy, wish more people saw it that way.

i am totally with u. i love to see teams squad up and listen to their commander who can potentially be very effective if the squads decide to listen. i am a member of a clan. whenever we play its all tactics all the time. most of the time we fight an unorganized emeny. we travel in this group of 6 that will litterally wipe out anything that stands in out way. i wish we could see more of the tactical squad play that we all would like 2 see.

Re: Hours played vs. stats discussion

on my new account: th3rocket I have about 80 hours at 2 hours a day... and then roughly about 200 medals (100 of which are gold stars at this time).

My gobal score just hit 20,000 as of last night. That is quite fast considering I started this account on June 18th. Then again my spm right now is at 4.19 (top 170 in the world).

Re: Hours played vs. stats discussion

I've played 135 hours total since I got this game. 'Enrollment' date is 27th of June, 2005. So that means I average round about just over 10 hours a month haha.

However I am still a huge Battlefield fan, have been since the original, just don't get round to playing it as much as I would like to and with house moves and what not it causes problems getting a game. Starting to play a lot more again recently - but moving house at the end of next month...typical.

its safe to say if my comp didnt go to crap and my dad didnt wait 7 months to fix it (only to have it break again) and the finally take another few weeks to order ia new one, i would probably be one of those u speak of. i can do it merely because i have OCD and when i need to get something done it gets done. btw, the term "social life" is not in any way applicable to me ( but that is just me.)

i maybe play 5-8 hours on weekends.
during the week im lucky to get 1 or 2 hours in.

                              Have 108 hours since may.
SPM was 7.21 once, now its "only" 4.9, since i stopped playing karkand.
#41 in the world, around 20th if you don't count all the people who have > than 20 hours played or used a glitch.
