That really does nothing to a "good" commander. When the commander is critically wounded, he can still command via one of the many glitches in EA's game.

The best way to keep his assets down, is to blow them up, not killing him. Then again, maybe most of the commanders in BF2 are clueless and don't even know about it.

          I always wondered about that...

Always thought it was some weird bug, never once thought it was the enemy commander.:)

Actually, for me, no, it won't do. I don't care about the Commander's screen. I'm talking about the mini-map that everyone has access to.

Look, like I have said twice now, I am in no way claiming that this isn't true. I will say absolutely, though, that if this is true, then it's glitchy because he has never turned white for me, ever.

Even as recently as yesterday I was hunting down a commander because he was having fun annoying me with constant attempts to kill me with vehicle and supply drops. (Most everyone started disconnecting the previous round, and soon there were just 10-12 of us left which made it a very long round, so this was all just in fun to pass the time--nothing malicious.) Anyway, I hunted him down multiple times, and I always spot my enemy--it's just a reflex habit--and never did his minimap dot turn white; it was always red just like any other.

            That's all I'm sayin'.

The enemy commander only turns white if the commander spots him in his console. Q-spotting just makes him flash as red.

it happens when you hit caps lock and then click ona players name in the squad list, it makes them white on the minimap

Ah, Sorry about that. I know that the dot is only white if the commander spots him. Even then, I don't know if the dot is white on everyone's screen, or only on the commander's screen. I think only the commander sees the white dot. I don't remember ever seeing a white dot when I wasn't commanding.

Confirmed, however, most of the time it's not hard to figure out where the noob commanders hide. IMO to be effective to have to mix it up with the troops. Sorry, going off topic here.

As Wreck said, i have only ever seen this when i am commanding and i spot the commander via a scan or when i see/spot someone when i'm zoomed in on an area.
The highlighted squadleader part is also true, but then they are always visible and you can highlight someone else as well. But as commander, when he says "enemy inanftry spotted" and if in his console the guy flashes white. it's the enemy commander. Art/cartillary the guy to see for yourselves. I'm not sure if the other players see him as a white dot though. if they do it's only possible through a commander spotting him then.
