I think only commissioned officers in the game should be allowed to beta test the new game OR the beta patch.

In the video the dice person talking never said anything. He said it was for bf2 1.4 patch. Those pages are not EA. When I read it from EA, then their is going to be one.

In the video, he was talking about the beta testing of the 1.4 patch not bf2142. In fact he never talk about a public beta testing of bf2142. :hmm: He said it was an internal beta testing. Dice is testing it.

Go watch the video again. He definitely talks about an "open" beta for BF2142. Someone in the audience asks "How open will the beta be?" and he responds that it will be somewhere around 10,000 to 15,000 people. I would bet any amount of money you want that it is in there, but I don't blame you for missing it because it was over 40 minutes long.

He also talks about the completely open 1.4 patch beta. That will be released to everyone who wants it so [theoretically] the bugs can get ironed out.

"We are going to throw out an open beta in the beginning of August....Keep your eyes open to join."

That suggests an open beta where anyone can become a tester but they'll only accept the first 100,000 or so people to apply.

I'de say the beta testing will be to people who have put a lot of time in the game...not someone who has an average of 30 minutes per day of playing...
