Stats are 100% the reason for ruining the game for many people. It's attracted so many kiddies who want to get the biggest e-penis and the most badges. EA think 'Teamwork points' will bring in teamwork? Balls to that. In 1942, people were too busy trying to play the game and win the round opposed to trying to get thier latest 'Medic Badge' because there were no silly awards. Now it's the other way around and ruins the gameplay.
The awards aren't even based on skill. They are based on duration of play time : /
what would bf2 be without global stats just playing with no unlocks kiling people and stuff ooo how fun. but then u wont be able to see whos better than u etc. i play the game with unlocks stats etc cuz its hella fun
So you play BF2 specifically so that you can get unlocks? Your not playing for fun. Your reasons for playing BF2 are frankly FUBAR.

BF2 for the loooose!!
yea, if you do something like fly a plane or drive a tank or be a 1337 medic you get called a stats padder. everytime you do something someone else doesnt like its because you got points, its really silly. im only here for KILLS, despite being told by other players that i play for points
so when i complain about the red name tag bug not being fixed and the medic paddles not recharging correctly im making the game worse
YOUR A RETARD ea are the people who take our complaints and make \incorrect or incomplet "fixes" that ruin the game but i guess people like you in the community ruin the game

yes you are confused.....
as you kill people you eventually get a weapon unlock, thats all i wanted from the game, a better sniper rifle.. to kill more people. a choice of guns allows you to pick a gun you find better at killing people.

no your the retard, since i dont see anyone saying that certain important bugs like red tags shouldnt be fixed...
its about things like, remove claymores, stop jumping, stop self healing and all the other crap they come out with.
I have been playing alot of PRMM lately, so i guess you could say i dont care about stats. I come back to play BF2 alot though because i still find fun.
But as far as the community goes i would have to agree with the thread starter. Not everyone will ever be happy with how the game currently is, and they want to twist, and mold it in their visionless idea of what the game should be. And what's worse is the people who complain are just the vocal minority.

I would have said those who complain about the game are unfortunately the vocal MAJORITY. EA seem to have listened to them a lot more. Seems like a 10,000+ petition to keep squad cycling wasn't good enough. : (
Ah sorry, i might have misunderstood. Yes, those that do complain are the minority, but unfortunately they are the only ones EA/Dice can turn to when they need to find out whats supposedly wrong with the game?
I've also noticed a majority of the complaints, cone, claymore, macro breakdancing, flopping, what ever it is, come from people who appear to play city maps a lot.
The examples they site, solutions they suggest , nerfing or ubering, this or that, all seem to hinge on something going on in a city map.
Rarely do you ever hear, I hate the bunny hopping in Dragon Valley. Or this weapon should do this because the spawns at Fushee Pass are too hard to capture or defend.
It's as if a vocal minority within a minority is attempting to shape the game. Even then they don't agree with each other a lot.
I remember before the game first came out the one's who spoke out against the ranked servers and the rank system were bashed and flamed by the majority in these forums. Those guys are long gone and he we are. IMO you reap what you sew....

Thats totally right! I can't belive I never noticed that before. The whole game has been shaped around the city maps. No wonder the city maps dominate servers.
