Not a cheat.

I cut two thin lines out of the top of a post it note. Stuck it on my monitor using the L96A1 crosshair as a guide and now I can actually get more than one AT shot off on a tank before it kills me and its a helo killer being able to guide it right on target. It's also useful with the knife and it helps a little when grenade spamming. It also makes spotting enemys a bit more accurate. Its useless as an unzoomed sniper, the deviation is incredible.

It is a cheat, here is the proof. If you load that and punkbuster detects it, you will recieve a hardware ban courtesy of punkbuster. A hardware ban is probably the worst because you get 86'ed from ALL punkbuster games based on your hardware configuration and current IP.

So, if you think it's ok give it a shot. I'll be here waiting for your screenshot and your thread "What happened?"

PB doesn't ban for crosshairs AFAIK as long as they're not a part of a hack or something. And there are only a very few ways to receive a global HW ban and one of them is trying to prevent PB from working or taking screenies. If you get a HW ban you must have done something very serious. Using normal hack gets you a GUID ban for the very CD-key. And this thread is not about PB. As I said, PB doesn't care about crosshairs but Punksbusted.com, which has a long list of cheaters caught by them but not banned by PB. Like screenies and stuff PB doesn't ban for or know. Like Crosshairs.

Crosshair doesn't alter memory or anything, it's not a hack, it's an overlay. I don't mind if someone uses it. As someone said, in BF you can't change your crosshair. Thats why some people make their own with on-the-fly adjustable colours and sizes. In Counter-Strike and many other games you can customize the entire hud, fonts, colours, layout, everything.

I believe that if the gamemakers of BF2 intended to have a steady crosshair in all situations they would've implemented it in the game.
I wouldn't go as far as calling it a cheat, because the same effect can be attained by painting a dot on the screen.
but it definately is an attempt to give yourself an advantage over other players.
Imho not fair play at all.

Any player that introduces something that may help him/her is hacking and worthy of a ban and stats reset.

Ok it's not gonna help you in the way an aimbot would, however in some situations having a crosshair like that would be an advantage.

Team speak is better voice comms. It wouldn't give you an advantage in combat.

Yea, teamspeak also requires you to have a server to speak on, most of which means you need a clan.

NO not the actual teamspeak program. There is a program called Teamspeak Overlay that overlays the speakers name on your game screen when they talk. Doesnt give you an advantage but it DOES overlay like this program does. Will PB catch you for it?

Allright, I used the Red Dot . exe "hack" in SWAT4 yesterday. And oh my oh my did my accuracy get a boost. Ive got a problem, probably common, that I lose the concentratin from the reticle and focus on the target, which is a bit worse compared to focusing on reticle. And with the red dot I did focus on the reticle and I did some good fun shots. Not too shabby for a little red dot in the middle of a screen.
