    "you got killed by insert some obscure weapons manufacturer's number here"

    Opps I meant:

    "you got killed by insert some manufacturer's obscure weapons number here"

    I know the makers, just not all the jargon........

BUt then it would be a one shot insta kill for everything. BTW, why the hell do tank guns have splash damage, a HEAT round is a shaped charge round, designed to concentrate all explosive power on penetration, it's like it has a HE/HEAT round, doing adequate damage to tanks, and still a bit of blast.
      If it wasn't coming out of a US tank, I'd say it act like an old British 105mm HESH round. Dunno, guess we could call it HEDP.

        Yea, i guess so, high explosive dual purpose round. Except most times ou see multipurpose rounds, they are for artillery cannons and those are the things that break apart and release explosive submunitions (a little larger than a grenade each). The MLRS rocket releases 644 submunitions from one standard rocket, and it devastates everything, even tanks i hear.

          Oh yeah! It's mainly counterbattery in doctrine, though. It's REALLY hard to shoot at anything while the apocalypse goes off around you.

          And as for the HEDP, well, this is BF2, and it's already taken some liberties (the Pancor gets three more shots!) so I just call what it functions like, not what it should be. APFSDS would rock, btw.

            Play the project reality minimod thingy, there is a choice of ammo for all main battle tanks, the APFSDS pwns tanks, but has basically no splash, it takes a while to switch between the types of ammo, i personally prefer the APFSDS, i could care less about splash damage, i got a rapid fire co-ax machinegun to mow down troops.

              IE:
              G3 ---> G3A3
              Mk3A1 ---> Pancor Jackhammer Mk3A1

              ..and such.

              What I'd like to do is seperate the tank's main gun from the coax machine gun, so it would tell me "120mm Smoothbore" or "M240 Coax" depending on what killed me.

              I also changed the mounted LMG's to read "Emplaced M249 SAW -or- RPK-74". Helps me discern them from the carried variants.

              Oh, and the Essex CIWS was renamed "R2D2 With A Hardon".
              It's good to see folks editing and customizing their files to suit their personal tastes. Like Mavlyn said, the flexability of the tweak makes this so awesome. Mav your kill messages sound killer! Keep at it!
