I dont know if this has been mentioned because i haven't read the whole thread.

Is it just me or does the Anti Air missiles on the planes suck when it comes to choppers? They are impossible to hit even when they dont fire their flares.

No problem for me in hitting them. You can easily fix this by simply lining them up better. Missile has a tighter lock-angle now, so just keep the chopper closer to your crosshair when you shoot the missile. I dont have problems with missiles myself.

the system is unbalanced, and decieving, it needs to be revamped, thats for certain.

It is possible to evade missles in a chopper, If u time it right u can ascend just as the missile is getting close and it won't hit you because it would have to turn too sharply

thats why they recharge so quickly and why a good ground based aa guy will wait untill you flare before firing.
The balance is NOT the tv guided missile, the AA vehicle is moving around trying to kill you. You are dodging and doing flips. What abou the gunner? He can't aim that accurately at a MOVING target with your heli doing flips, i bet experts at tv guided missiles could destroy it. But we are talking of average players here. Don't expect everyone in the game is rambo

I bet Roger is talking about utilizing my idea of a STA missile that is guided like the camera in spectate view, with a proximity indicator and manual detonation.

Just f*ck off and stop spamming threads. Start flying jets and you'll understand how good it is. Easy to learn BUT hard to master. Noob.

i disagree entirely, if u do a half roll to the side then pull through from underneath u can dodge pretty much anything and still have enough enertia to get away at a reasonably speed. the only problem is u need space and height....

Dont Encourage more patching, waht do you want patch 1.5 then 1.6 to make it even worse.

no dumbie, i want them to make it better. if they know exactly how to fix it, maybe they wont screw it up.

ps for those who care, i made a new aircombat thread: http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95345

-anti air missiles should be able to be outturned on all airframes. the problem with simply adjusting the lock angle and turn rate is that different jets turn at different rates. why not make a differently coded aa missiles fire based on the airframe its locking on. that way we can keep the diversity of the airframes but they can all lose missiles. another idea would be if when you press fire the missile flys straight and when you let go it starts tracking the target, but a properly adjusted launch sequence could easily fix that aswell.

-anti air missiles range should be increased to at the very least by 1/4. jets basically can fly without regaurd for ground aa and as soon as the hear a lock, do a sweep. i can see a jet clearly fly past me at mid level and i cant even get a lock. as for how this would effect helicopter balance, a good pilot can use his terrain to keep the lock off no matter what the range.

-give essex tank armor so the jets cannon cant hurt it much and it actually has to bomb it. ive toyed around with alot of ideas to fix the essex/jet balance and i think this maybe the answer.

-instead of blowing up when the tv guided missile runs out of time, it should keep flying forward unguided. even if the guide time was reduced, it would still be necessary for this change to happen if the above things happened.
oh and thanx for the bump :)
