Now I will return the favor and take a gander that you never got a chance to be in a clan or you were in an immature one and someone kicked sand in your crotch leaving you with a bad feeling about clans in general.

I've had plenty of invites to clans, but I guess I like doing my own thing!

although ive been there, done that and got the t-shirt with clans in other games, bf2 is just too **** to be bothered with them..
only bought it so i could sit in a bush somewhere sniping people from miles away..... damn did that backfire on me with peashooting sniper rifles :|

I guess I'm a pubber... but not by choice... It's just that no clan meets all three of my necessary criteria: Play in English, Asian timezones, allow my ping to be 300. My criteria used to be much more selective, including such frivolous things as honor (no cheaters/padders/cartillery users), maturity, organization, etc... But now I'd just be happy if I found someone I could actually meet and play online with.

I guess I'm a pubber... but not by choice... It's just that no clan meets all three of my necessary criteria: Play in English, Asian timezones, allow my ping to be 300. My criteria used to be much more selective, including such frivolous things as honor (no cheaters/padders/cartillery users), maturity, organization, etc... But now I'd just be happy if I found someone I could actually meet and play online with.

i always find a few people (regulars on the same pub servers i play on) who will join my squad and work with me, and their normally as switched on as i am so we do quite well.

lol, the ping thing is hard to get past some people. I used to play in an international clan for a different game, problem is, most of them where from Europe. In order to play with them in matches, they had to schedule matches early (for their standards) and I had to be on right after work.

I did all that with a 56k modem and living in Wisconsin USA playing a good deal of our matches in Europe. They had two others of us that were from the US and we actually managed to hold on to first place in the ClanBase ladder for a year.

It just sucked when you knew that around corners in a 1v1 you knew you were more than likely toast because you had to start shooting ahead of time before you ever actually got around the corner, so when you stepped out, the bullets from your gun were already spraying. It wasn't so bad from a distance, but the up close and personal stuff usually left you at a disadvantage lol.

high ping means you will have a high reaction time, thats why no one wants a high pinger. and that low pingers get killed 2 seconds after theyve gone round a corner, cos the lagger still sees them on his screen

The high pinger has a delayed reaction time, whatever your ping is, that is what your reaction time is delayed by. The server tells the client where the person is on his screen. So whether your shooting at a high pinger or a low pinger, your shot only has to be lead by your ping, not his. If you and a high pinger stand still ten feet a part, and shoot at each other in the head with a sniper rifle at the same time in real life, the low pinger wins. The reason why the low pinger wins, is because if the high pinger has a 300 ping, his packet that says he nailed you in the skillet comes in to the server later than the person with a low ping.

If you just happen to be running around a corner when that signal comes in to you, it will appear you got nailed from around the wall. He got the final shot in on you before you went around, you recieved that info X milliseconds after the server registered that hit.

The server makes the rules, not what you see on the client side. Try again.

Nothing wrong with pubbin, I pretty much do that now, even though I am in a clan. Between having two toddlers running around the house, a full time job and backpack camping as a hobby, I just don't have the time for competition matches lol.

Got called a puber? Relax. Your in good company.

SInce you've got called a puber, it probally means.

1.) You have not sat down and figured out for hours how to glitch into a wall/building.
2.) You have not searched out for cheats to download so you can profess to the world that you are 1337, yet, still, somehow actually still, suck.
3.) You join squads, and actually seek out to HELP those in need of help.
4.) You dont whine, when DICE makes a patch that takes out rediculously unbalanced situations, to make a better, more fun, Battlefield, for everyone.
5.)You typically would never be caught sitting in a tank, pointed directly at a spawn point, killing everything that spawns, for every round, of every game. ( you seem to think there is alot more in BF2)
6.) You have spawn raped a few times, and really, you felt it to be wrong, so quit doing so within minutes.
7.) You were in a plane, and flew past 10 enemy infantry on the ground, in an area where it dont matter if you killed them or not. Instead......you saw another enemy plane. Rather then go for the cheap easy kills, you aborted and went after the enemy plane that was wrecking hovac on your teams forces. Instead of a quick 10 points, you saved the day and eliminated another plane that was taking 10 points from your team every other minute or so. Same goes with ground armor, that is taking flags like a madman. Instead of flying around looking for easy infantry targets, you target these things as well.
I could list another 100 things.....but why bother........
