I'm referring to those few pubbers who can really rally a team to victory and push up the battle, these players are most noticable when whoring vehicles but can accomplish this task while playing infantry as well.

I'm proud to call myself a pubber. I play when I want, how I want, and purely for the fun of it. Of course the competitive aspect always comes in to it, but it's a competition mostly against myself to take my game up another level and exceed the other players by as large a margin as possible. But as I said more than anything I play for the love the game and pure enjoyment rather than the bragging rights clans enjoy (also known as e-peen).

I don't have much respect for these "leet" clan players, my negative attitude coming mostly from the fact they're usually condescending towards non-clan players, treating them as if they are inferior gamers. Generally speaking, competitive clan players are the kind of players you DON'T want on your team or in your squad. They're usually fairly selfish players when found on a pub and are not very dynamic (only good at the one thing they specalize to do in the clan, so if they don't get that tank or plane they suck). As far as pure skill clan players are above the average pubber obviously, but I find that the very best pubbers tend to outshine the best clan players in a 1 on 1 scenario solely because the pubbers end up becoming much more dynamic players rather than relying on some formulaic strategy/other people to win a round. I'm referring to those few pubbers who can really rally a team to victory and push up the battle, these players are most noticable when whoring vehicles but can accomplish this task while playing infantry as well.

Clans also have a tendency to stray in to the grey areas of cheating. For example, clan players are far more likely in my experience to use crouch -> prone spamming behind a wall, using a RoF macro on that shiny new G-15 to guide TV missiles.. ect ect. That's not skill, that's exploiting broken game mechanics. Clans also specialize in other silly little map specific stratagies like pixel shooting TV missiles from half a map away to destroy the enemy helicopters or planes before the enemy team can even reach them. I don't blame them for doing it, but rather as they do it they become more dependant on such shallow strategies to win.

I'm getting in to more than a bit of stereotyping here because truth be told not all clan players are selfish, not all clan players are static and not all clan players suck without a trained team to back them up. While I can't say this is completely true of the BF2 clans, certain CS clans come in to mind with players who will absolutely pwn the living daylights out of even the best pubbers (Team 3d for example).

Bottom line is I'll take a skilled independent pubber in my medic squad over a clan robot any day of the week.

There is a difference between a pubber and a puber. A pubber is already described by many preceding posts. A puber.....well I'll leave that to your imagination.

That's what I call a random as in a random pubber. A Pubber can be a clan member or a member of a gaming community. Even if you play comps when clans play on public servers they are pubbing and can be classed as a pubber.

Apparently you didn't, otherwise you wouldn't of been trying to pass that horsesh*t up there as anything that made sense. If you knew that, how could you even make a long winded nonsense post like that when you knew it wasn't true, not even in a general way, just flat out wrong.

You've been playing since the Wake demo, your still about two years behind in the BF series then.

Got called a puber? Relax. Your in good company.

SInce you've got called a puber, it probally means.

1.) You have not sat down and figured out for hours how to glitch into a wall/building.
2.) You have not searched out for cheats to download so you can profess to the world that you are 1337, yet, still, somehow actually still, suck.
3.) You join squads, and actually seek out to HELP those in need of help.
4.) You dont whine, when DICE makes a patch that takes out rediculously unbalanced situations, to make a better, more fun, Battlefield, for everyone.
5.)You typically would never be caught sitting in a tank, pointed directly at a spawn point, killing everything that spawns, for every round, of every game. ( you seem to think there is alot more in BF2)
6.) You have spawn raped a few times, and really, you felt it to be wrong, so quit doing so within minutes.
7.) You were in a plane, and flew past 10 enemy infantry on the ground, in an area where it dont matter if you killed them or not. Instead......you saw another enemy plane. Rather then go for the cheap easy kills, you aborted and went after the enemy plane that was wrecking hovac on your teams forces. Instead of a quick 10 points, you saved the day and eliminated another plane that was taking 10 points from your team every other minute or so. Same goes with ground armor, that is taking flags like a madman. Instead of flying around looking for easy infantry targets, you target these things as well.
I could list another 100 things.....but why bother........
