Just pick up a trackball. My joystick (Panther XL USB) actually has the trackball built in (it is the only joystick I know that was designed to play first-person-shooters). Your rig will see the trackball as your mouse, so you can use the trackball to guide the cursor in the black and white screen, and of course the trigger on your joystick to fire and guide it. The learning curve using your left hand (presumably) for the trackball is very slight because the trackball is so easy to use, as opposed to, say, teaching your left hand to use the mouse.

i still think a mouse would guide a tv missile better than a joystick. only a few clicks is needed to get the tv to its target.

You didnt get the point.

Buddy obviously wants to solo, and its an issue to change from JS to mouse.

Not for me though, I have a wide, nice desk with JS just in front of the KB, and mouse on the right.

Maybe that's exactly why DICE implemented a second seat for the gunner... So that the pilot wouldn't have to bother clicking the mouse but focus on the joystick work...

But please don't ask me about my opinion on solo-choppering. because it's probably going to be very different from yours.

I'm just curious how difficult would it be and then I wouldn't need to switch controller when solo flying with copter. By the way is it possible to guide missile with keyboard only?

It would probably be more trouble than it is worth.

solo choppering is fine for clan matches etc. But for public games I don't appreciate it very much.

I think it's an excellent feature to add to the game. Only as long as you don't have to keep clicking... Yes, it'll take time to learn but I think it would be easier!

Hey man as to how to fly solo align ur flying sight to the left of the target by quite a bit becuase when u change seats it swings right hard this should give u time to hit, also dowload army dr videos search for them there really helpful

I never solo-fly if someone is nearby and asking to get on board, actually most of the time I'll try to seek someone to fly with me. But as I mentioned there has been so many cases while playing Armored Fury when players do not want to play gunship gunner. I guess that it's related to Littlebird and it's ability to take down attackhelos with an ease if gunner cannot target properly.

I'm getting bit frustrated once and a while when flying alone and hunting tanks. In AF there are lots of AA and TV is only way to take a tank out without always risking exposion to AA. Also I'm not so good with rockets that I could engage opposing attack copter with a gunner. Yeah soloing is lame if there are volunteer for gunner seat, if not, it's just nessecity.

Ok, I tried it right away. It's almost working. Targeting seems to be too difficult for me, too fast or too slow. Damn! But anyhow now I can fire missile by joystick and first direction is almost right direction. Then I grap myt mouse and finnish the last part of the flight accuratelly :laugh:

Now I'm gonna hit someone while soloing. Test it, it really is good aid. Pro-solos, don't laught, I really needed this.

Ok, I tried it earlier tonite. I cant use the joystick for $h!t! The chopper pilot was getting pretty ****ed off it was comical...Back to the million clicks of death for me...LOL!!!

grow some spheres and learn to use your mouse for everything, then you won't have these urges
