Its great, but I can honestly say I have NEVER seen people do that, as a coordnated and planned event.

Or shooting at a tank to let the SpeOps do their job. Those are quite easy to use and common to see.
Im not talking about taking out a vehicle, since I agree, those times usually force people to either work as a group, or die as solo, until the tank gets killed or moves on.

Them two actually are carried out by one person to draw enmey's attention, the others just act normally but can get some easier kills. That why they are simple, even not required mic or typing.

e.g. I was playing USMC SpeOp in Sharqi today. When trying to cap back the tv station with an assault troop. 3 MEC rushed into, I got the first one, but emptied my M4. Instead of taking out the pistol, I just ran, ran fast. The remained MECs totally focused on me, cause they saw me first, but hesitated to spray fearing TK. So the totally ignored assualt guy fired full auto and dropped both of them. (He probably didn't mind killing me *_*b) When it was over. I had 4 or 5 bars left.

Simple, right? No communication needed at all. Teamwork CAN be carried out by ONE player by creating more chances to his team mate.

        Not really teamwork.

I think your success in BF2 is completely mind over matter, just the opposite of the OP. The reason for this is that I tend to fancy myself a thinking man’s gamer. I am usually cautious in my style of play and tend to come out on top in firefights. Not because I have a fast machine and leet skills with the crosshair, although I do buy high end gaming equipment for not only the sheer pleasure of seeing the game in all it’s glorious eye candy, but in the hopes the extra oomph will help augment what skill I have.

I see so many players in BF2 who do not use the tools they have in front of them and would go as far as to say better than 75% of them don’t use the info at their fingertips. They don’t watch the HUD for red dots or spontaneous grey vehicles popping up behind them indicating a bad guy might be close. They don’t take the time to look around before they rush into a cap zone. They don’t use boxes to heal or repair their vehicles nor do they ask for them if they need it. They don’t see the guy running right up on them until it’s too late when other visual clues and ambient sounds would have told any skilled player what’s coming. Inevitably, if you yell at someone on team speak that there is a guy coming up behind them with C4 in hand, they will continue to look forward and die. Maybe they will look left when the guy is on the right. Once in a while (and it is very rare) a teammate will actually pay attention and react in time to counter the attack, but not very often.

I think BF2 is a very audio/visual experience and if 75% of the players would learn to use the cues given to them by the game itself, not only would firefights last longer, but there would be NO rushing in. It would take patience and forethought to enter and cap a flag.

I kill people all day long who approach flying up behind buildings in a Vodnik and hop out to sneak up on me. They die because I heard the Vodnik and was expecting them to round the corner. I kill people all the time because I see the red dot in the HUD and I know where you are. You died because I was paying attention to my surroundings and “planned” my reaction to what I was hearing and or seeing. I heard the tank from a block away so it did not get the freebie kill by taking me unaware. The tank died because I heard it and thought out how I was going to eliminate the threat. I approach every situation I can unless I am forced to do otherwise by circumstance. I out maneuver airplanes because I do not drive in a straight line, nor do I take the most common paths to get from point a to point b.

My point is simple. You can get so much more out of this game if you use your brain. You CAN out think your opponents and you can be more successful if you try to be clever in how you achieve your goals in the game.

Well, if someone is trying to sneak up behind and the UAV picks them up or you hear them or w/e, you still need to turn around to face them. This is when skills come in. You are now face to face with your opponent and it all depends on skills, no brain.

Not really team tactics but still teamwork IMO.

Such as laying down covery fire from MG shooting at someone you cannot really hit to let your mates finish them off with grenades. Or annoying with armor using something cannot really hurt it to allow the SpeOps sneaking close in. Probably they are too simply to be called tactics, but still count teamwork for me.

Ok, you realize that every move you make your entire life is dictated by either your conscious or your sub-conscious right? That means everything you do is dictated by your brain. Breathing, walking, sleeping and killing bad guys in the virtual world are all in the control of your medulla oblongata. Your skills are derived from your brains ability to respond to stimuli that you see on the screen. The response in seconds between seeing the bad guy and clicking on the mouse to shoot him is dictated by how long the electrical impulse from your BRAIN reaches your hand. Cool huh? Skill = Brain. Get it?

Also note that I said if you take the time to use the tools, not a ton of skill is needed, but I guess you need clarification.

Let me give you some examples:
                • You are defending a flag and on your HUD you see an enemy soldier coming into your area. You know which direction he is coming from. You know which door he SHOULD come through, or which hole in the fence, corner, alleyway etc. You place some C4 in the area and back out. He comes into view and boom you frag him with your C4, Claymore, At Rocket, Grenade etc. He did not have the chance to fire on you if you did it right. No face to face, chest to chest standoff as you imply. Just one guy who had used the tools and the environment to come out on top without engaging the enemy face to face.
                • Your hear a tank coming down the alley on the other side of the building. You know which way he will be approaching from. You can gauge how far off he his by the loudness of the rumble. You find a good spot and hide with your C4 in hand. He rounds the corner and you come from behind him and plant two on the tank, boom, he’s dead.

                  Questions?
Not all movement is dictated by the brain. Suppose someone stabbed your spine while you were playing BF2, which caused your finger to twitch, in return killing the enemy. The twitch in your finger was not stimulated by an impulse from your brain, but rather by the nerve itself due to the knife striking it.

                  ...Just saying.

I guess you are just debating for the sake of seeing yourself type. When is the last time you were stabbed in the back while at home playing your game online? What kind of knife was it that went through your chair, severed your spine AND made you kill someone in the game? How did they get in the house? Did you hear anyone approach you from behind? I guess you survived right?

To be just saying anything serves no purpose in this conversation. Not only does it not prove your point on ANY level, but it kind of looks sad that you have to resort to the most ludicrous of possibilities to even debate. I was staying on topic and you have not so this little interior debate between us is over.

He's not really saying you litereally don't use your brain parish, he's talking about tactics, and not just subconscious tactics. Tactics like coordinating a hit and run, a raid on a base, taking a jet, a defense formation etc. I have to admit, I've only seen these active tactics used once or twice.

I actually see the enemies plane being stolen a lot. Usually when the USMC captures the airfield on Wake, and there are a lot of PLA left...they just take the F18.

Well enemy plane stealing is pretty common yeah, happens all the time in Wake, that's why sometimes I'll just sit at the top of the ridge overlooking the plane and gun down enemies with my PKM until a squadmate spawns on me and takes the plane, rinse lather and repeat.

Myself and my clanmates try to use smart tactics when making any moves in enemy territory. If we are riding together in a vehicle, several will hop out and flank from opposite directions as we approach a flag. If one dies, the rest live and now know where the enemy is. If we are coming in from a chopper, same rule applies, bail out every 20 feet or so and spread out. Simple tactics that use some preparation before hand.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're not out there. I'm saying I don't see them very much. I try to coordinate my squadmates but most of thm just join on for a free spawn point and don't give a shiz about teamwork, they're in it so they don't have to walk for 3 minutes only to get sniped once they get to their flag.
