HOW HARD IT IS TO BE A COMMANDER when you are lower rank than others!

Very hard to be commander at a lower rank, its mainly the people who spend most of their day playing the game that are able to get Commander. Everytime I apply on the jolt server its always PaulVenice whos 3 star or leutnant_hunter who is also 3 star that get it, then its like people complain saying that they always have commander every round, because paulvenice just goes commander and sits in the tank not putting it to use.
Yea, BFROE really needs to get more strict about no commanders in tanks/apcs.
Re: HOW HARD IT IS TO BE A COMMANDER when you are lower rank than others!
This is pretty much the only time rank matters. When you apply to be commander the higher rank will get the option first (if he/she applied). I've had the chance to command for just under 11hrs. I've got my Vet. Command badge, but that wasn't hard to get. More times than not, I take command because no one wants to.
I was going to start a thread about the easiest and most difficult maps to command on, but then I realized that the size really affects this. 16 player maps usually mean the commander will see combat. Even maps with 24 or less people, there is a high possibility.
Karkand is pretty easy, regardless of which side you are on. Most of your UAVs, and supply drops will be near or at the Hotel. Sharqi is pretty similar - plus placing a UAV near the Construction Site will almost always pick up the action. Obviously, you need to use discretion. Kubra Dam is quite difficult because it is so spread out. Wake was fairly easy, as long as the team isn't completely idiotic.
Overall, to succeed, you need squads that listen to your orders, and you need to always work for your team (constant scans, UAVs, supply drops, etc). Oh, and stay out of needed vehicles.
Re: HOW HARD IT IS TO BE A COMMANDER when you are lower rank than others!
its hard if they get the commander with them being a higher rank,
the only thing you can do is start a mutiney vote.
or find a server that hasnt got a commander
Re: HOW HARD IT IS TO BE A COMMANDER when you are lower rank than others!
I became a commander and I had like 1000 points. I was in a 64 player map too. I ended up with 27 points, although I couldn't tell you if that is good or not.

We used to be really leniant and warn warn warn never ban, but now we have a large core of regular players that expect good gameplay as do we, no room for selfish smaktards, yes we still warn once unless they are a total a$$hat but we will and do ban those who degrade the game experiance..when we are in the mood for frustration we go pubbing LoL
Which is worse a selfish commander or a selfish admin? Lighten up please.
If you can't seem to become commander, bounce around until you find a server where the commander spot is empty. I also suggest trying sparsely populated servers for a better opportunity to play commander.
Re: HOW HARD IT IS TO BE A COMMANDER when you are lower rank than others!
I don't see why you'd want to play commander at a low rank anyway. About the only people who get listened to are Majors and guys who sound like Sean Connery.
I take the commander spot, round after round after round because it's easy points. You can't ban me for that, not on a ranked server, at least :)

This is probably the first time I feel proud of being Staff Sergeant :) (I'd probably have a much higher rank, but I've not been able to play BF2 the last 2 months now ).

You got any tips to help me find out how to be a commander if I'm a corporal. It's so hard to be a commander when you have a lower rank than others!
PLZ reply
How do you get to be a commander in multiplay?
It's pretty hard I'll admit, but I'm a Corporal as well and I've been the commander a few times the best tips I can give you are:
1. Apply for commander at the start of EVERY round, you may get lucky and noone else applies.
2. The best places are known plane maps like Oman and Wake because most of the time these maps are filled with Top Gun wannabes who only want to fly and couldn't give two ****s about being Commander. I've been Commander 4 times and 3 were on Oman (I got lucky and got Karkand once too on a half empty server)
3. Avoid Karkand when possible, It's the best map in Vanilla I know, but it's also the most likely to attract Commanders because of the close quarters and the # of kills you can rack up using arty.

Yea, karkand attracts commanders all over, especially commander tank/apc whores. But it is real fun being commander on kark if you can get it.
