Grinding experience

Does anybody here waiting for their next rank ever sense that you are grinding exp?

Been there? Done that?


The haul from Gunny Sgt to First Sgt is brutal. I dont imagine I will progress past First Sgt but these long grinds between ranks are harsh!

I need to find some green mobs and grind about 5,000 more exp.

Well, I'm 5.5K from my next rank, and getting 30K seems like the hardest thing I have done in a game! .... maybe I should play more

I recall the old days of playing CoH, having to 'grind' on that for exp, but that was far more dull in comparison imo.

Still.... give it a week or so, and I'll be at 50K with my last two unlocks

ya, it is a long haul from 20000 to 50000. i need only about 10000 more points. then it will be awsome, cause the next ranks r like 10000 points away. by the end of the summer il have on of those cool bars next to MY name

I plan to stop playing ranked when I have my last two unlocks, hopefully there will be less smacktards knocking about in unranked servers.... at least that's what I hope.

I believe its me who has a longer way to go, i just play for my last unlock, i didnt bother to spend my money on expansions or boosters, only mods.

I see people with the expert badges and realize that every one of those is 100 hours...thats.....crazy.

Yes, I played far too much DAoC and WoW before I came to my senses and got back into FPS games.... then I found BF2 and started a brand new grind! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! !!

I'm definitely loathing the 8,000>20,000, and the 20,000>50,000... I don't think I'll even make it that far. I mean this game will pretty much be over once ET:QW and 2142 come out this fall/winter. I figure 10-12 weeks.

The only point of BF2142 will be the new ranking system with clear leaderboard. Wake up!

The million dollar question:
Why are you grinding for pointless ranks that mean nothing? They don't make your character better like they do in RPG's (the unlocks aren't that great, and I've already got the ones I want at 1st Sgt). So what's the point?

I wish I could have been a First Sergeant. But instead I had to jump from Gunnery Sergeant to Sergeant Major :p

what REALLY ****es me off is that it is even harder to progress up through the ranks because 1 out of 3 rounds a server crash happens.
